People are smart (not really, sometimes though) and can see that if someone joins 1 day ago and has a rep on that day that it's probably bullshit.

No one can be trusted on the internet in my honest opinion, despite the amount of 'rep' they have. I do however see the reason as to why people need reputation to post in the marketplace. If this rule wasn't in place, new members like yourself and I could come here, intentionally to scam someone.

It's another necessary layer of security.

That section would be terrible with a bunch of new accounts, the one rep helps filter a lot of bad traffic. Even if people are able to "bypass" it, it still stops a lot of accounts and makes it more difficult overall.
