Me, Myself & I
Before we properly start, here's a little insight into who I am. My name is Hugh, and I am known online as Nivarka. I am shortly entering the second year of higher education in the United Kingdom, and it is very nearly my 18th birthday.
HackForums Journey
I joined HackForums in February of 2011, in an attempt to learn about cyber security, remote administration tools and general malware. The main reason I was interested in learning how to better protect myself and how the 'bad guys' worked was so that I could protect my Habbo accounts, which were getting hacked at quite a frightening rate. It didn't take long before protection turned to utility, and (whilst it was permitted on HF) I began to produce and use phishers, whilst being more sure of my own account's security. Naturally, this worked well and was very productive until Habbo themselves banned my account. During this time I also experimented with Cybergate, DarkComet and BlackShades, purely for entertainment and educational value.
After this phase of learning and appreciating the power of malware and the available countermeasures, I began to realise potential in the HackForums marketplace. I started and managed a World of Warcraft Game-Time selling service within the WoW section, paying for permanent stickies as business was so good. I purely resold services from a chinese Skype contact I had, but as nobody else on HF initially offered the service, I was able to sell at extortionate margins. At the outset, I was paying $0.75 / month of gametime, and selling at $8.00. Soon after, other sellers caught on and my profits were brought down, but it was good whilst it lasted.
Since then, I have focused more once again on learning about security and penetration, however purely from a white-hat perspective. HackForums has given me a passion for technology and cyber security, which I intend to build upon and take with me into my future career. My roots will not be forgotten.
Currently, I am enjoying my time on HackForums in Instinct, Void and the Writers. Being a part of these groups really does open up a whole new world of discussion. From light-hearted banter in Instinct to through provoking discussion in Void, I am honoured to be a part of these three groups. My main project as of now is my currency exchange service. Working with Vinnie, Instinct and some prominent miners on HF, I have established a viable mini-business in exchanging, which I only see myself expanding in the future. I have met and gotten to know some lovely people through my exchange service, as well as being able to fund my hobbies and technological desires. Not only this, but I feel that my exchange has helped me become a reputable and trusted member of the community, something which I have and will continue to strive to be.
For a few months I have donating to HackForums and Omni personally on several occasions. After recently making a substantial amount of money through exchanging and working in close partnership with Vinnie, I have today decided to jump the final hurdle and obtain master donator status here on HF, giving Omni just enough time to get himself something good for his birthday.
Meine Liebe
When asked what I most love about HackForums, it would have to be the community. Not in some tacky way, suggesting each and every member is a gift from god, but the collective. Hell, I sometimes even enjoy reading through the posts of some extremely LQ members (zekar) just to see how extreme and uneducated they are. But aside from those members, there are the masses who are willing to engage in friendly banter, constructive discussion, honest trades, and intelligent debate. Nearly every single one of this forum's 'notable members' has something good to contribute, a quality I find unique amongst the many bulletin boards of which I have been a member. Not only that, but each and every sub-community is so welcoming of new recruits, within 48 hours of joining thier TeamSpeak I found myself accepted into Instinct. It may take a thick skin to see fast the facade of the 'elite tier' in the Writers, but the guys there are really fun to be around, and know exactly where to pitch their game. In the multitude of other forums and sections I frequent, I feel a slightly different tone and atmosphere to the posts and threads. I like this. I like the fact that visiting different parts of the site (even at different times of day) results in such a different received tone and viewpoint. I've yet to come across a member, who when presented with a friendly PM, doesn't reply in that same tone. Even the ever-busy staff and admin team. From the top with Omni, right down to the bottom with the un-upgraded members (bar the few you'd expect), the community here seems brilliant.
And because of that, I'd like to thank YOU, reading this, for being part of this amazing community and giving me something to come to, spend time on, and enjoy day after day.
Onwards We Go...
Too long - read here: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id42422124
Such Post, Many Section
Premium Sellers Section - The fact that the highest proportion of my posts are in this section just goes to show how much of a marketplace whore I am. Managing sales and always sniffing out good deals, it is no surprise to me that I have so many posts in this section. Amongst all the scams and unsavoury characters in the marketplace, there are a few brilliant gems waiting to be uncovered.
Currency Exchange - My current home. Always on the look out for a good trade, I post a fair amount in this section, whether asking people for deals or updating my own stock list. An interesting section to keep an eye on.
World of Warcraft - I am honestly surprised that this is still my 3rd most populated section. I don't play WoW any more, but when I used to, I posted here a lot. A very high quality section of the forum, full of members who are more than willing to help out if a question ever arises. Keep it up guys.
*#@?&%! / Instinct Sub Forum Now... This is a great subforum. To everyone in Instinct, I'm sure you're all aware of how random and damn-right stupid the lounge is. Congratulations to inxy for being this sections biggest shitposter, even though we all love you for it. If you ever need to be brought down a level, made to say 'WTF', or just a giggle, the Instinct subforum is the place to go.
The Lounge If the lounge isn't one someone's list, then there's something wrong with them. Ahhh... HF lounge. How high quality you are. Joking aside, the lounge is a brilliant place to go just to read up on how shit some peoples lives are, and how brilliant yours is in comparison. I enjoy lurking through the lounge, posting occasionally if I feel my response adds anything to the conversation. More often than not, I feel that lounge threads are simply ones where the OP should be read, acknowledged, and moved on from.
Ub3r Junks - I like junking my threads, mmkay?!
E-Whoring - I've not mentioned this so far, but I went through a massive eWhoring phase not too long ago. I was making SERIOUS money from a method, and so I decided to write and sell an eBook outlining the execution of this method. After generating around $1000 of revenue from the eBook, I realised that the method was now saturated, and with my eBook finding its way onto leaked content websites, there really was little point in continuing sales. eWhoring is great, but don't stick around too long.
Writers - I'm fairly new to the writers, having only been part of the team for a couple of issues. Despite this, I can say that it's FULL of characters. Nobody takes themselves too seriously, and that's great. There is some division between rodents and gods, however. *squeak*.
Social Networking Services - I have also previously ran a social media service shop. Didn't make much off it through HF, but it's an absolute gold-mine on eBay.
The Staff of Power
Omniscient - The staff member I can say the most about. Without him, we wouldn't have this brilliant community. I owe a lot to Omni, as HackForums has really taught me a lot about what I'm interested in over the recent years, potentially more than I have learned through the British educational system. I feel that because of the educational and financial benefit HF has provided me, my recent donation to achieve master donator status is the least I can do for such a hard-working gentleman. Just in time for his birthday, so I hope he treats himself!
Viral Dragon - Viral, one of the newest additions to the staffing team, yet also, other than Omni, the staff member who I encounter the most. A seemingly genuine and friendly gentleman.
Factor8™ - A vital behind the scenes asset to the forum. Often online, often working. Thanks for your contributions to this community.
RDCA, Paradoxum, JD & Xch4ng3 - The rest of the staff team. I've luckily never really had anything to do with these four guys, but I am aware of their continual hard work and effort put into HackForums. Much appreciated!
Gr00ps
- My first group, and the group I am most active and important within. At this time, I am responsible for managing the Instinct member list, and all paid admissions into the group. If you do have $70 spare, it really is a brilliant investment. I love the guys in Instinct, they're a real zany bunch. Not forgetting my bald nan.
- A group of which I am honoured to be a member. As stated publicly, Sir treats the writers as his family, which is why I am so proud to be a part of it. A fun and enjoyable group, the writers is something I have aspired to be a part of for quite a while, as I feel that the group adds a lot to the community.
- My newest group. This group is full of amazing discussion, and I can really see myself making a LOT of posts in this group's subforum. There really are some wonderfully smart and intellectual people in Void.
- The group that I most wish to join. The members of this group seem to be of an extremely high quality, and the money making potential seems very enticing.
- The big boys group. Vinnie and his l337 hax0r friends know their stuff. I see this userbar and it says 'don't fuck with me'.
- These guys are truly skilled. Each and every member posses so much talent in their field. Well done guys, keep it up.
- Honestly, at this time I don't know too much about Zero. Other than that I have no chance of joining because Saturday said so. *squeak*.
- Another massive community. So many sectors make this group very confusing. I don't have a clue who does what!
- Not much can be said about this group. It looks like a lot is to change in coming months.
- Some of the information that members of this group release has really helped me learn and understand the field. Good job to everyone in Legion!
- I still see a few old timers. Not really sure what this group does any more. Cool drop shadow, though!
- This seems like a very interesting and promising group. However, I remain slightly put off by the buy-in price.
- The kings of bladder control. What else?
- In my eyes, a higher tier group on HF. The majority of members appear high quality, and usually have something valuable to input to discussion. Would definitely appreciate an invite.
Ran out of image slots for these last 2 groups.
Pheonix - I have much faith that the leaders of this newly resurrected Pheonix will restore this group to its former glory. An invite only group with good intentions, keep it up!
Studio - A very new group which I look to apply to join. Good things may come of this, only time will tell.
Notable Out-Shouts
Vinnie - A good mate, who I have nearly, yet unsuccessfully met up with in real, actual, human life. Vinnie you're a legend, you've helped me out on numerous occasions and the fact that I have even been able to afford master donator today is somewhat your doing.
Tɦɛ Gʀiɱ - A brilliant business partner, and good friend. Thanks for all the help you've offered me with exchanging, Grim.
Package - Everyone loves Package. How could you not? One of the biggest flamer-trolls I know, Package is an asset to the community.
Icy. - The chavviest sounding little cretin on TeamSpeak, but a HQ guy nonetheless.
inxy - A sincere gentleman who fills up the Instinct lounge like nobody else possibly could. Good job, inxy.
Greatest - You're always on TeamSpeak, and you're fun to chat with. A shout out to my friend Greatest.
- Sam - - Another one of Instinct's leaders. Your voice amuses me Sam, so there's that for you.
Based God Tyrone - You're a 15 year old skid and you ain't half bad.
Aceman - You're in every single one of my groups, and I see you everywhere on this forum. A genuine guy.
I Will Mashinate - Thanks for sorting League out for me, you Norwegian fuck.
Justin Timberlake - Despite having a JT fetish, you're an alright friend in the writers!
Morchid - The unforgettable Morchid and his bags of milk.
Abide - A talented graphic designer and a cool guy. I'm having less and less to say about everyone now.
Roger Waters - A friendly face who's always got something nice to contribute.
vurezo - A high quality member of hacker forums dot net.
xadamxk - A HQ member with a secure account.
Chilluminati - HackForums' #1 Swede.
Robust - A good guy with some nice profile graphics.
Icy. - An Instinct brother that I forgot about earlier. Not going to move you up the list though.
Arrow - A pleasant member. Had a few good transactions with you. Stay HQ my friend.
Emylbus. - Your userscript makes using HackForums so much nicer. Thanks for everything!
420 Blaze It - You seem to be everywhere. and you've always got something interesting to say. A valued member.
If you think you should be here, let me know and I'll add you.
Tallyho!
Thanks for reading my feedback thread! I must depart now. "Why?", you may ask. Well ... Business as Usual.
