Dear reader,

Thanks for coming by on this thread to follow my tutorial!

We will have a little introduction first and and then we can start:)

Parts:
1) Introduction + Functions
2) Registration Handling
3) Login Handling

Please be aware without part 1, you will not be anywhere at this part.

Enjoy :D

-=Introduction=-

In this tutorial we learn how to handle our registrations
you will be able to save a unique ID - username - password - saltkey
as if the cookie handling turns in the registration will contact a loginkey

you are free to add any kind of registration item but remember if you want to add items also add it to the registration function and to the database, else it won't be registered and rather get's crashed.

this will contains the html content and includes the register script as you call checkRegister.php

-=checkRegister.php=-

WARNING: in this script is a unused variable called $warnings!

A switch is basicly an if-elseif statement but a switch-cases looks way nicer and better than a if-elseif statement

this page will show the register HTML Form
and an additional warning system which will be shown upon the ?id= in the url

the register form makes the final call to doRegister.php upon submit.

-=doRegister.php=-

in this page you see that you require the functions.class.php as in part 1. is given.

there will be an instance created called $functions

there are multiple if statements to check if each function returns true behave the username_exists function this must return false else it adds an user with an username which already exists and that's what we don't want to.

if everything is done and the user is registered the login message will show:

Code

successfully registered!
You can now login!

if something is wrong then you go back to the registration form with the warning what gone wrong

This is the end of part two of the whole tutorial.
