Post to PM Help Docs further clarification / link to thread by Omni

Posting Etiquette of Hack Forums
7. No "Post Here and PM me" threads will be allowed. This includes "Post Here and I'll PM You" or any "Post to PM" threads.

I am posting this due to a couple of reasons.

1. I never knew about Post OR PM being disallowed, and I know a lot of other people didn't. Yes it's there, I know, but it could use some clarification obviously.
2. I see this in threads all the time, and have never bothered reporting it due to these things lasting ages without removal (so it's a lot of people who aren't getting this rule.)

The Help Docs do not say 'Post OR PM' is disallowed.
This thread above by Omni in all of his disallowed examples, it is not mentioned that 'Post OR PM' is disallowed.

So the Help Docs which is supposed to be all the sites rules does not clarify this rule against using Post OR PM, nor does a thread from January 2013 which isn't stickied say it's against the rules.. but a post made in March 2013 says it's disallowed.

So pretty much, if anyone wants some serious clarification of the rules, they have to do some serious digging.

Okay, now with the Help Docs, it says 'no post here and I'll PM you'. So yes, saying post OR pm does lead to the possibility of post to PM, but let's be honest, it can be cleared up with the amount I've seen posting or Pm'ing going on.

Not to mention, since you can't post on a thread getting the OP to PM you, for example, what is the point of posting? Saying 'thanks for this giveaway man!' isn't exactly the kind of quality you want people spamming on giveaways, and if you're disallowing 'Hey man, can you please send this to me? Thanks!', you may as well just get rid of any threads that involve having to PM the OP.

I open up 4 threads from the hacking tools forum and 3 are post to pm/post or pm that have had plenty of time to get removed. This is most likely the same for a lot of sections.

I hope this can be changed as a few words extra in the Help Docs would most likely help a lot of threads get cleaned up. I may just be over thinking this but I'd like some input.

P.S. Preferably any admin/staff besides Paradoxum to reply and or deny.
I actually support the idea, but seeing as you do not want my response for some reason, I suppose I will remove this. 🤣

Well I asked you if you agreed with it and you didn't answer, so I was assuming you were against me. I was just merely not understanding the logic and you were telling me to learn to read.

Post what you wish, just please let another staff member end the thread.

Oh and I did say preferably for someone else. L2read. Just kidding..

I disagreed with your statement that the rule was nowhere to be found--my response provided you with the link to the Help Documents entry you said was nonexistent and are actually using now as reference. 😉 Although, that does not mean I do not support the simple suggestion of adding the thread link so that members will not have to look for it themselves.

Once you learn to, I'll follow suit. 🤭

Once you do, I'll follow suit.

Glad that we can now agree. Yes, I admit I was incorrect when I didn't think 'Post and I'll PM' didn't correlate with Post or PM. My bad.
With all this being said, are we allowed, however, to ask people to PM for said giveaway? If I had a HQ method of some kind, I would much rather pick and choose who gets it.
I wonder what happened to this? I've been warned because of the Post to PM rule in the past.

You could always make it leet/ubers only I suppose.
But overall would like this to be implemented.
I have also been warned about Post to PM in the past because of how it doesn't include Post OR PM. A clarification in the rules would be much appreciated.
