Not booting Hard Drive

hey

My laptop has been randomly shutting off recently but today when it shut off it was different. It now won't come back on. (When I turn on, it's just a blank screen) and the usual lights at the bottom don't come on. Just the power light. The power button also doesn't work now.

I'm unsure what has happened. Have so many important files that I need to access asap

Cheers

Edit - okay, I've realised its the HDD that's not booting up. I can't access bios so I can't edit that. I've moved the hard drive to a shitty laptop for the time being and it's working fine (apart from the missing wireless drive, FUCK SAKE).
So now what's your current plan ? Trying to put back the HDD into the original laptop and make it boot ?

I'm very unsure. The fact that it boots on another PC is great news because obviously it's not a HDD error etc.
For any hardware support with your PC contact me :)

Can you access the BIOS of that other laptop without the HDD plugged in or not ?

No. Unfortunately not. Apparently, it's a power issue.

I don't know which laptop you have but if it have a removable CMOS battery I would try to reset it to see if it will refresh the motherboard and allow you to access the BIOS.

I've put it in my other very similar laptop and its booting fine. (Model down from what I usually use). Infact, it has a 1ghz worse CPU.

I'll do what you suggested and update.
If the HDD is booting on other laptops then it sounds like it might be a damaged motherboard on the one laptop that won't boot. I assume you have a SATA drive so many the socket that the cable connects to is damaged? Did you drop that laptop anytime?

Looks like it's an hardware related issue. I would ask for assistance in the Computer Overclocking, Customizing, and Hardware section and if the helpers there declares that it isn't hardware related, comeback here (in this thread) to request help.
