My thoughts so far
Based on the artwork and background music, it portrays a Death Note-like feeling. As for the plot, well it more or less reminds me of Gantz. I don't really have anything else to say at this time, except for that I hope that it will be an interesting watch. It was made by Madhouse, so I am having a bit of high hopes.

Edit:
So I found out that this anime will be the continuation of an animated short called "Death Billiards" that was made for Anime Mirai 2013.
I do recommend watching the short animation since it is 25 minutes long and an interesting watch.

The animated short

I like the animation style and art style, but I'm worried how it will hold in the long run. The trailers always look nice, but I don't want to raise my hopes too high for this.

I completely understand.

I found out that this anime will the continuation of an animated short called "Death Billiards" and I updated my original post with the video.

Feel free to check it out.

I really like the look of this. Definitely going to be watching.

Seems perfect anime for madhouse I'm sure they will do awesome things with this ;D

[Tedeschi]

Psychological anime is the best, I'm so excited.

[βlεεεry]

This actually looks pretty awesome!

[Bezo]

Found out that the series will be 12 episodes. I hope this series doesn't become an episodic series.
I could see some great story potential from this series.

[Ellie Goulding]

So do I have to watch Death Billiards first or can I just watch this series when it airs?

Looks interesting, loved Death Note and AoT

I suppose you could watch it when it comes out.

Death Billiards is an original video animation that is basically an episode. It's 25 minutes long and it gives you a bit of insight as to how the anime will be.

Stoked for this, Madhouse has yet to disappoint me. First episode is to air on Jan. 10, five days from now and I can't wait.

The hype is real!

But seriously though. Madhouse has yet to disappoint me either. I hope that this turns into a fairly lengthy anime, at least 24-25 episodes bare minimum.

Not to disappoint you or anything, but the MAL lists it at 12 episodes. Hopefully that isn't set in stone just yet.

Ouch, 12 episodes. I hope the pacing is alright.

[VYKTOR]

I'm pretty hyped for this but since both Death Note & Attack on Titan were not short series so I'm wondering how much they'd be able to do in 12 episodes.
