Mac OS Usefull apps!

Hey guys, so I made a post over on S7 and I just wanted to put it on here as well. You're free to refer to my original posting on S7 if you'd like. If anyone wants to say it wasn't me, I can confirm it.

Here's a couple of programs that have really helped me with my Mac!

Memory Clean(Free): Use this tool as a sort of Task Manager that deals directly with your ram to give you more memory power!

SmC Fan Control(Free): Use this to control your fan speeds and keep your computer from getting hot! Warning: Do some research on your fans and learn the safe operating range.

Clean My Mac 2($39.95): You can use this tool to clean up your hard-drive easily, getting rid of files you don't use anymore. I got rid of upwards of 45GB of files that I didn't even think about anymore on my first-time use. You can also use this tool to get rid of any left-over files that may be around from unsuccessful uninstalls. This application is currently on sale for $19.97.

VLC(free): VLC is a video player that I found one day while perusing Google. This video player has been able to play any video format I have thrown at it! Great free app.

TextWrangler(free): This is the Notepad++ equivelant for all mac users! A great free find. I use this for all my web editing!

Day-O(free): This is a fantastic app, I have always had a problem remembering the date, this puts it on your menu bar. Click on the time and it pops up into a full-blown calendar!

That's it for now guys. There are a great many useful apps for Mac. These are just some of them that I use. Some of these are a little more popular, some are older. Not all of them are free, but they're worth every penny I promise.

All prices were updates January 2, 2015!
interesting list.. I don't agree with you first entry .. okay once you flush your RAM you'll get a very nice new amount of free memory.. but once you return back to your work your machine has to allocate it again.. uhm..

I've noticed that after I clean my memory that I have better memory function for a while. When you close an app down it still uses an 'app cache' that never fully clears out. For example, if I finish plaiyng a game even after it's been closed for 25 minutes I may still have 500MB of 'app cache' The only way to get rid of it is to clean the memory, log out, log back in, or restart you computer. I now consistently have 200-500MB of free memory. Before, I only had anywhere from 10-25MB at any point in time. Of course, sometimes your computer bogs down a little stil depending on what mac you have, but, my computer does run much faster since I've began using Memory Clean.
It doesn't matter if something is cached in your memory, it'll be cleared when it needs to be.
Things being in memory don't slow down your computer (unless you run out of memory) and start swapping.
And after the app cache, which is actually classified 'app memory' you have 'File Cache', 'Wired', and 'Compressed'' I've noticed really the only one that ever is effected is the 'App Memory' for me. The rest stay relatively the same. Never move around outside a 25MB playground.

I have a pretty old mac with 2GB of ram, it bogs down pretty fast by now. Even running Chrome or Firefox sometimes I hit only 5MB free ram, at that time I just clear my ram with Memory Clean and it improves, and stays improved for 45-50 minutes. Right now I have 409MB of free ram, I cleared it about 4 hours ago. Once I close Chrome and start using other things it'll bog back down.
