I've always been a huge fan of the FBN userbar, I'm not sure what it is but I really love that style of graphic design. It's pretty cool.

Anyway, I've always wanted to try making something similar to the FBN userbar, but I've always put it off due to lack of knowledge and generally not knowing how to go about it. But today I just decided to have a shot in the dark and see what happens, I think it's turned out alright for a first try.

Obviously it's nowhere near as good looking as the actual userbar or the variants of it. I think the water looks kind of weird, I tried playing around with it a bit but I couldn't figure out how to make it look better. Now that I've posted it on here I can see the bottom side of the graphic, where the water meets the thread's background, doesn't look right at all. But as for good points I think the moon and stars have came out pretty well.

Anyway, criticism is always accepted. I'd love to hear what you guys think about it.

UB looks good. Just going to list what I see needs to be fixed.

Depth is good, but could be worked on.
Moon looks a little bright, tone down just a TINY bit
The mountains in the back are too light and need to be a little darker(just a little bit).

Other than that it looks great and your progress is amazing.

Looks pretty good, only criticism I'd have is the fact that the glow from the sun is cut it off; just rub it out using a softbrush :)

Only complaint is the same as .Felix, the glow from the moon is cut off and it's quite jarring, other than that I like it.

Made a couple more changes based off the criticism you guys gave.

-Changed the glow of the moon, also reduced it somewhat.
-Made the background mountains darker.

However I can't figure out how to give the image more depth, any ideas?

Add more shading to it. you're only using solid colors right now.

You can do it in two ways, maybe even more.
One way is to use the blending options to give the userbar more depth.
Then you can add some by making a new layer and use a brush with either a white or black soft brush. Then change the blend mode of the layer to something you find suitable for your situation.
