Introverts & Extroverts

Introverts and extroverts - two kinds of people of our society. I, myself, am an introvert and I prefer to stay this way. I have found in my past 17 years lifetime that most extrovert people believe themselves to be superior than introverts in terms of any event or matter. My father is an extrovert and he strongly believes that my personality is "abnormal" and I should change it and become more open & assertive speaker type, if I am to survive in this world. He's my guardian and he knows more than me, but in this particular case, I will have to oppose his view.

Before you criticize me for being judgmental about my father, I would like to share some information about him. This thread is not about him but he is one of the main reason why I am making this thread. The thing is that my father is a bank manager of our local bank and he's one of the typical type of extrovert people I've seen. He has remarkable feats on many occasions and fields but there are several facts and things about him, which makes me annoyed. Firstly, he believes that introversion is a negative characteristic and introverts have no place on our society. He is the type who thinks less and speaks more. He often taught me to not hurt anyone and always think before talking, but he proven himself to be a hypocrite in this matter. He (hypothetically) believes himself superior on subjects, out of his grasps. My mother on the other hand is really cool in this matter and he admires my unique personality, and as a result, despite being 17 years old, I still feel more comfortable around her than him.

Now, I have noticed that majority of the people (at least in my school/college) are extroverts and they the typical ones who have the loudest mouths & the smallest brains. I prefer to ignore them but it's quite annoying when these extroverts keep thinking themselves superior than introverts despite having inferior ability on subjects beside social interactions. I have met several people of this type who act as blow-fishes, boasting their non-existent knowledge to its maximum adulterated form. Also, I noticed that academic teachers seem to believe that people with better social skill are superior than the quite ones. I firmly believes, and have been proven several times, that this is a complete BULLSHIT mentality.

I would like to know your views on this matter. Thank you for taking the time to read this thread and posting your opinions.

Have a great day! 🎉
I don't know what you're asking here, but I'm introverted also and your fathers views seem to be close-minded and self-absorbed--believing what he can't be isn't right.
I have a similar thing going. My father is an extrovert and at times, he forces me to act the same way. He wants me to be as good with women as he was in his days, wants me to be the charming guy who entertains a group, but that's just not me.

However, I have a weird case. I am quite an extrovert and assertive when I am dealing with total strangers. It is just friends and family that really keeps me in my shell.. don't know why.
i think so that fathers should not force their son/daughters to be something they won't like to be. But on the other hand i think so that being too much introvert would not be good as well. I personally feel that one should be just balanced.

Thanks

Alright I missed this point and oddly enough, we have a similarity in this matter. I feel no shyness when I am talking to a stranger but I do get nervous, when I am around my peers, preparing to give a presentation. It's just kinda weird as you've mentioned.
