Raspberry Pi as a VPN?

So I am wanting to use my Pi as a VPN so that I can connect to the colleges wifi and use ethernet to connect to the internet on their PC's.

Any ideas? Would a Tor VPN server work? Or OpenVPN?
Just set up putty and connect via putty.

Yeah, I mean If you want you could set up teamviewer on it and use it as a vps.
You can setup dual boot with Ubuntu and setup an openvpn server on there.

Eh but I still say putty is a better way to do it.

Well how would putty work better than openvpn because you would have to wget everything and then read the html ratheryou could use openvpn and view webpages, play games etc.

So install Ubuntu on the Raspberry Pi and just install an openvpn on it then connect to the school PC using the Raspberry pi?
You can go to adafruit and get the onion pi kit which is basically a raspberry pi running tor. I use one at home as a vpn access point for all my devices. Would link, but don't have enough posts. Also if you have the pi already, just follow their tutorial. All you need is the standard pi os and a wifi usb adapter to use as an access point. Also ethernet to connect to the network, but if you want you can configure two wireless adapters also, one for access and one for connecting to the net.

But if I use that I would have to use tor as a browser at college wouldnt I??

Nope. I have one at home, you use anything. It becomes a full working hardware vpn. Like I went on firefox and it thought I was in london. All my applications were spoofed, since it's an access point.

Also I have a pi, could I not just set up the software on the onion Pi? As I don't want to buy another Pi as I have one.

Configuring your Raspberry PI as a OpenVPN server is not that difficult.

1) Download Rasbian (https://www.raspbian.org/)
2) Follow this WIKI, on how to setup the server (https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewt...hp?t=20916)
Install debian
Run this script https://github.com/cwaffles/ezopenvpn

You now have a vpn, make sure to foward ports if you want it externally accesable
Github
Keybase
Shoot me a PM
I would post the tutorial, but the site won't let me. Go learn.adafruit.com/onion-pi/overview
