Hello, I was wondering If this is possible? I've seen that you could make your Raspberry Pi into a server, So I figured you could host a little small VPN service on it?
VPN Service on Raspberry Pi? |

Of course it's possible! It will take almost all system resources with few connections but it can easily be done.

Encryption cycles on VPN's require mainly CPU power which the pi doesnt have a lot of (even compared to a cheap desktop). Maybe 1 or 2 users Oh okay. Well I might try it, and tell you how many uses I can get. I mainly would just use it myself, and perhaps let my friend use it sometime.

Honestly you are better off getting a cheap pentium 4 box from craigslist. You can use Hamachi easy for this,
Actually im doing it for someone that cant portforward, seems to be working OK for him. Got a Pi here set up with hamachi, portforwards in my router, he connects to the Pi through Hamachi on his Windows machine, and he has a Portforwarded VPN. Here's a tut: http://lifehacker.com/5978098/turn-a-ras...ere-you-go OpenVPN etc can be used too [edit] Neorouter looks like a really nice program too. |
