Basically this, like mentioned here rather than making it Gift specific display the award reason as well instead of just the award name for every award that exists.
So right now when you hover the mouse over the gift award image it just displays 'Gift'.
My suggestion is to add the name of the user who purchased (gifted) the award to the other person the same way it is shown in the awards list in the member profile.

It's not a big problem or anything but if you want to find out who gifted the award this would be a faster way instead of going to the member's profile and view their award list.
I think this would be a nice update, makes it a bit faster to see who gifted the award instead of going to the profile and than to award to check it there.
Good suggestion :)
+1 from me.
And what about the users who have bought themselves a gift? Would it show " A Gift For & From Himself" ?
Next we'll want Ub3r from * when someone gifts Ub3r.

I think displaying the username would be a better idea to avoid confusion (in my opinion)

Supporting this idea. Would look cool. 😎
Without having any particular opinion on the idea, you would essentially put the award reason in the hover text.

Instead of the award name, makes it an expection Omni needs to add and I don't see him doing something small like this.

It seems to me, that like I do, he prefers to make small changes and fixes here and there. He does a lot of small things between the big projects. In both cases I imagine it being a trivial change as the awards are already fetched per user. The query just has to be changed to get the reason as well.
With that being said, I think it's a rather pointless feature.
Seems like a good idea :) Nice to see you used me in the example pics :)

I agree you'd be as well just making it display the award description (given when being granter) than the award name.
