Show exact progress numbers for award goals

Right now, the Award Goals tab shows each challenge and your progress as a percentage. For example, for Octoberfest, it might say you’re 20% complete toward 500 posts and 30 threads.

My suggestion is to display the exact numbers alongside the percentage. So instead of just showing a progress circle, it could say something like:

“100 / 500 posts, 3 / 30 threads”

Similarly, for sportsbook, it could show how much you’ve bet so far in the required time frame.

This would make it easier to track progress, rather than estimating based on percentages.

That’s actually a solid idea, showing exact numbers would make tracking much easier.

It would definitely help members stay more motivated and on track. By the way how far have you gone so far?
That would be perfect, but a little math is enough.

I reported a bug once & was given the award, but do you know if there's still a bug for thread vs post counts?
Specifically, threads were counted as 'posts' so it could show 100% progress if you make too many threads, but not enough posts - which resulted in no award for me at the time.

It might be fixed, I forget the outcome.
I'm concerned about changing the format. I'll think about it.

It works on Chrome browser. It should also work on mobile with the Firefox browser.

Looking at the code, I'd have to make major changes to how this functions and really it's just not worth it.

Sorry.

Thanks for this.

I will try.
It sounds like the coding would be too much work. I will say the only time I have had an actual problem with this has been with two of the Octoberfest awards. I got slightly frustrated that I had 100% but wasn't seeing the award.

But now that I understand that it's not exact it's fine. I'm not sure why that happened with the pumpkin awards, but not the Stanley Award.

Maybe when introducing a new award one could mention that if someone sees they are at 100% but don't see the award that the percentage is not exact and they may still need to make posts.

This has made my life easier since I finally got around to getting it all setup today. So can recommend.
