No, you cant draw more power from the wifi stick then what its made to deliver.. Also the USB port cant handle more then 2500W (or 2 ports 5000w) however there's a workaround for those who want more out of their long range wifi, and that's amplifiers, there's some problems and solutions involved. however you will be just fine without it.
Ahhh k, so replacing a let's say 13dbi with a 24dbi antenna will not make the card to need more power?
I'm asking because I'm using an awus036nha on a raspberry pi2, and even though it's delivered with a single usb cable, the card needs 2 usb cables to properly function without dropping connections.. Which seems like a power thing, so I was just assuming that bigger antenna means more power..

I didn't said that.. i said "you cant draw more power from the wifi stick then what its made to deliver" unless you modify the software, which i guess you not have done. Connect 2 usb-ports doesn't make it to use more power than it already consuming, however it might be more stable (Sep 27, 2015 04:35 PM)Mad76e Wrote: I didn't said that.. i said "you cant draw more power from the wifi stick then what its made to deliver" unless you modify the software, which i guess you not have done.
