Forum suggestion

I'm sure this has already been suggested, but if a thread is very old without any activity the past 2-4 weeks,
add a [INACTIVE] tag and a warning popup for those who enters.

This could lower the amount of grave/thread digging on the forum.
What do you think?
Sounds great but can't see omni implementing this actually.

I don't think it would be hard to add,
Would be great if he did, the amount of new/old people
posting on inactive threads is pretty high 😉
But gravedigging isn't really bad if the post contributes to the thread. You wouldn't want to put someone off posting what they have to say. If it's a giveaway or download on a closed account then try PMing the section mod/mentors/staff.

It wouldn't necessarily prevent someone from posting on the thread... perse.

Like, if you were going to reply on a thread that's labeled "Inactive" when you press the post button it will say "Are you sure? You're about to post on an inactive thread. If you believe your post really contributes to the thread, press the "Post Reply" button again."

something like that just to tell people that they're about to post on an inactive thread or w/e and to not post unless their reply is extremely relevant to the thread or w/e

but if someone posts on that thread again,
the tag would be removed and the warning too
until it hasn't been active for that long again.

It's like a flagging system, if inactive for 2 weeks then flag it.
if inactive but became active again unflag it.
there are probably other ways to do this, it was just a example 🙂

Yeah, something like this 😊
I don't think this would stop the gravediggers tbh, its the same as looking at the most recent post date.

It would atleast make the poster realise what he is doing,
I've seen multiple times where people post with out looking at the date.

Yeah that could work. But the prompt should be visible before they start to make a reply.

Which could be the tag [INACTIVE],
or a popup when they enter the thread 🙂
This really is a good idea 🤝

I think this should be implemented, especially on giveaways and services where you see the OP is inactive for a year or so and new people still post asking to enter the giveaway etc x-x

No, the tag wouldn't be noticable enough and a pop up when entering would just be annoying. The post idea was better.

Agreed maybe we try it out in a few section such as, marketplace, Contest & Giveaways, News, The Lounge, and Shopping deals...

As I've said, there are multiple ways he/they can do it,
I agree the post confirmation is a good idea 😉
