[Game Dev]Crime World Recruiting & Feedback

I am basically rewriting my game to get a better foundation for the new mechanics I'm going to add and keep the code as clean as possible. That is why I'm asking if anyone would like to join me on my little adventure or have thoughts on what should be included in the game. I've been working on revision 2 for quite some time now and have accumulated 6448 lines of code judging by Code Metrics so yeah, I'm invested ;).

Description

The game is called Crime World(Currently) and is a Mafia like role-playing game where you(The boss) is going to take over the whole world. You start of by renting a building with a few members in your crew. You need to grow your economy, recruit members and control your empire to take over the world. Crime World is inspired by a tons of games that i personally enjoyed like NordicMafia(Norwegian), Street Mafia(Also Norwegian), Mafia Warz and Diablo 3/Grim Dawn.

The game will be free and fully open source when released to the public, i might create a public marketplace for people to buy & sell stuff and probably a leaderboard if i decide to go that route.

Here is a gif showing Revision 2 of the game Keep in mind that I'm currently working on revision 3.Spoiler (Click to View)

Current Features
  • Job system

  • Level system

  • Banking

  • Skill system

  • Day & Night system

  • Butter smooth performance(Thanks to using 0 images)

Upcoming Features
  • Inventory system - Pretty much done thanks to Hawk HF

  • Blackmarket system - Buy,sell and flip different goods.

  • Faction system - Earn different ranks with mob bosses which will earn you different benefits like % reduction to building and buying gods from them. Factions will also give you different missions that will yield high rewards and items.

  • Building - Build different building that will increase storage, member population limit, production and different % bonuses like xp and cash. These will be visible real-time in pixel art. Building plans is required for some buildings that can only be obtained by missions and rarely doing jobs.

  • Day & Night based events - Some jobs should only be done during the day and night and the player will be rewarded based on the time of the job.

Shoot me a PM if you want more details about the game.

Sorry for the long thread, here have a thumbs up👍

Edit:
Quick note, if you know who made the circular progressbar and button please HMU or post it down below.
Oh man I used to love Mafia Warz. I hope you've taken an OOP approach with this. 😝

Mafia Warz was great sadly they went the Korean way with it and made everything P2W.
When looking over the code i realized that there's close to nothing done with OOP only some parts of the Job system is OOP the rest are based on my own system that actually works quite well to be honest but I'll defiantly will make it close to or fully object-oriented in revision 3. This is great if i decide to add modding support. Thanks for reminding me ;).
Damn dude, looks amazing.

Could you PM me download when it is done? :)
That looks awesome as fuck, good luck brother!
I think i would be interested. I was big into Mobsters. It'll be a good experience graphically for when i want to start a 2d Isometric game. If you started this on xaml - universal app, it'd be super easy to get into andriod and microsoft store.

i could already think of multiple ideas as well.

Thanks, It will probably be released on the forums when it's done but if it isn't I'll give you a heads up.

I don't have any plans of a multiplayer system yet but a "Auction house" system similar to Diablo 3 and WoW is possible in the future.
bump, this game needs more publicity.
Is actually easy to make it multiplayer. You just need a website in which you can store everyone logs and details of the game and then make requests to the application so everyone can play with each other using those details + the campaign of the game. A idea is every user with more lvl than 5 can attack someone else and get his territory. If someone lost twice he have to start from 0 or spend half of his cash into something and blah, blah. You can also use vectors, icons and images, they will make your game more awesome. (:

As I said, is easy to make it multiplayer. Good luck with this game, if I weren't busy I would definitely love to help you into this. I hope you'll find someone to help.

Why would i even need a website ? Do you mean having all the game logic stored in PHP and make the game only send webrequests ? The idea is cool but it seems like the lazy way to do it. I'm planning on either make the multiplayer version completely Web-based and then use PHP+SQL to handle the game logic and store the player's values and HTML/CSS + JavaScript to do the animations. The only problem doing it this way is my lacking knowledge in webdesign and PHP.

Also this thread is pretty old and I've added a lot of different features. I'll probably make a thread documenting the changes soon.
