I'm looking for something fast.
I browse the web, do financing, and classwork on it.
I do basic programming in Java and C++ and run programs like github, codeblocks, eclipse, chrome, gyazo, word, chrome, skype. That's pretty much the extent of it besides watching some youtube/ training videos.
I hate when computers lag, I just get pissed off and want a new one (The reason why I'm posting this)
I'd like an SSD and a decent bit of storage even though I'll probably never use it.
I've had this laptop ( CLICK HERE) since 2013/2014 and have 773GB of 909GB free.
I rarely if ever play games. I say rarely because by some stroke of chance maybe I'll play something like minecraft again (which I doubt) besides that I've never played any games on my laptop.
Again, I want something fast.
Speed
For size I'd like to try and get about the same size I have no because I like it, lighter if possible.
Budget: This is something I take to and from school every day so around $1,000 +-
Macbook pro. Buy a macbook pro.

This is what I was coming here to post.
Emerging from the Shadows…
You sound like a perfect guy for a Macbook Pro. 15" Retina display. Go for it.

I'd really like a windows computer or I would have already bought a mac sorry guys :p
Why are you recommending Macbooks when his preferred IDE doesn't run on a Macbook and he'll have to change the way he debugs and codes his programs?
MSI GS60 or Razer Blade if you don't want a Macbook. XPS 15 too.
I don't middleman any deals on- or off-site. Please don't message me requesting my past services and certainly don't fall for anybody who claims to be me.

"non-gaming Laptop"
Good job completely ignoring pretty much the only criteria in the title.
Have you considered a Surface Pro 4 or a Surface Book?

If the laptop is primarily going to be used for coding and school work, the best laptop for the job would be a macbook air.
12 hour battery life, Lightweight & thin, bootcamp and you've got yourself all the software you'd need, etc. You can use majority of the software listed on OSX anyway, so if you find yourself preferring OSX over windows, then you're all good.

I really don't want to have to work with the bootcamp mainly because I know nothing about it. Do I have to load it every time I want to run a program? If I have to take the time to open it and run the stuff I might as well just keep my current and slightly slower laptop :p
I'll look into it but for now I'm pretty much focused on a windows. Also I think I MIGHT have to do a dual boot with linux for school soon. Not sure

Please don't suggest gaming laptops

Bootcamp just loads windows onto your macbook. Once you power it up, it'll show "Windows" or "OSX", once you click on that, it'll go to your preferred OS. It doesn't switch back to the OS until you go back into the bootloader.

So it's compatible with everything or no?
How much space does that utilize?
Oh and I guess do I have the option of 3 OS if I add linux?

It utilizes the size of your OS? You're just running windows on a mac, what compatibility are you looking for? And yes.

I looked up the surfaces they are around 12-13 inches, I'm a little hesitant with losing 2+ inches of screen to be honest I like my current size. Macbook I assume I can find a bigger screen
