Looks very nice my man. Some of the back lights look a bit big for the perspective in my opinion. Also, the crystal looks really out of place. What was this made in? Looks really realistic.

all in blender again?
pretty nice, i feel like the background should be darker tho, looks too light to be a swamp. the dirty part on the crystal (idk what to call it) kinda looks odd and just pasted there but it's probably just the blender material. the grass and dirt textures are really well done. finally, i dont know about the wooden plank at the top of the hut, looks way too rough in my opinion. like the other wooden pieces are a lot more smooth compared to that one. goodluck in the comp. It was originally quite a bit darker, but it lost a lot of the nice muddy grass and shit that I worked hard on so I had to render it a bit brighter. Crystals are really hard to get right, I've played with them a lot trying to get something rough, but still, shiny, dirty, etc but it's a pain in the ass because it takes ages to render and see the result of your changes every time. Yea you're totally right, didn't really notice that. Played with tons of stuff for that top peice, including tarnished gold and copper, painted wood, different types of wood. Idk how I ended up settling on that lol (Feb 7, 2016 03:51 AM)goldenarms_ Wrote: Blender and cycles, some comp in Photoshop. ahhh. fair reasoning rendering lighter, you're right, it really does bring out a lot more of the detail which is one of the things i first noticed about the grass rather than how bright it is. how long did it take to render this full image? just the crystal alone to pre render would've taken fucking ages like you said. but, you've done a really nice job getting the texture on the crystal. just went on google and searched up crystals and i didn't realise how well the shaping was too. good shit dude. Modeling and texturing was a solid 2 or 3 days because I wasted a lot of time trying different things and changing things, render was probably an hour or so at 1500 samples, not sure exactly. |
