Hexicidal's Final Planned Feedback - 3/10/2016

My time on the forum has been copious and bountiful. The progress I have made as a person would not be what is was without what HackForums offered me. This site and its variety of discussions is what a forum should be. This forum excelled in many ways what other forums could not for me. HackForums offered a more mature community, variety of topics that were new and foreign, and for me, an ability to be myself.

Many members that have left HackForums did so under the ruse that HackForums changed. While HackForums has indeed changed, the change was for the better. What I found from my own personal perspective is that the individuals that wanted to leave, left on their own volition. Not due to the changes of HackForums. As individuals, we all have our own outlook on a situation. That's why it's our perspective. HackForums as a forum has evolved in a sustainable direction. The members grew up. Not to say that this forum can not sustain "grown up" members, but at a certain point, things completely change. I no longer find a joy and pleasure with visiting the site. It's hard for me to involve myself in something I no longer enjoy. I've personally hit that point. My personality is not like that of many other members where they choose to lash out, sell their accounts, or any other detrimental choice. I choose to fall away into the darkness.

I've always been in the darkness. Putting myself into the spotlight is not who I am. I have never been here to impress anyone, or prove anything. Yet, here I am. I felt my climb on HackForums was a projection of what I wanted my own life to be? In the weirdest possible way? I did what I felt was the most successful avenue on HackForums. I was staff, mentor, group owner, and a friend to a multitude of members. With that being said, I never expanded on many of those friendships. I have always felt it to be such a challenge to maintain friendships on this forum. Not due to the "fake" nature of individuals online, but due to my own personal shortcomings. With that being said, I never went out of my way to harm individuals on this forum. I approached each member as how I wanted to be treated. I only wish that more members followed that simple philosophy. Just be nice.

There is a crucial point in this feedback where I feel many members could use to their own benefit. I'm not a life mentor, but I've learned a lot through my own personal experiences both online and in the real world. Approach everyone you meet, even if you don't know them, with a smile. Treat them politely, and with kindness. The world has enough meanness to go around, it needs more nice people. That should apply online, and I wish more people were willing to understand that individuals do make mistakes. With that being said, don't make yourself to be a victim. Act smart, play better. People are malicious and vengeful for no right reason, and you as an individual must be aware. Think two steps ahead about the repercussions of your actions in regards to every faucet of both real life and this forum. In this day and age of technology, both intersect much more than people truly like to give credit for.

The forum has grown in unforeseen ways, and sincerely for the better of the whole community. I feel the community has not changed, rather the faces involved have. Close knit groups that sludge themselves through the community are still there. People don't realize that holding onto nostalgia is not healthy. The world looks much better through rose colored glasses, but eventually they have to come off. Enjoy the moment for what it is. If you continue to push off the successes of today for what is not promised for tomorrow, you will only be left with empty wishes. This forum is a wonderful place, enjoy it, earn some cash, and make friends.

The forum is great. The Lounge continues to do what it does best, be a shitshow. The minor subforums throughout like the Education Nation and Innuendo are incredible resources still that I wish more members would use. Those are truly what a forum should base themselves around. Well, a general forum. HackForums does what it does well by maintaining the Hacking Theme with highly educational topics. While there isn't the same devotion to Hacking as I feel there once was, the resources are still there. If you need help, you will find it. You simply have to know where to look. The marketplace still remains my favorite part of HackForums. Omniscient's near laissez-faire approach to it remains to be my pinnacle of HF. Near self regulation besides the obvious rules, it's a hive for products and sellers.

I wouldn't change much about the site. The site is fine. I wish more groups stayed longer, but even as I say that, I'm in the process of finalizing a sale of my own group. Groups are one of the best parts of HackForums. The unique nature and attitude of groups is irreplaceable. It was an absolute pleasure to experience what I have here on HackForums. I'm not going to give individual members a shout out. I know who influenced me, and they know too. Each member that has ever had an interaction with me, I would like to personally thank you now. That's what life is about. The constant to and forth, and just being. Thank you to the community. Thank you to my friends that are long gone, and still here.

I will not request for my account to be closed. I will stick around, but in the shadows. As long as I am a welcome member by Omniscient, I plan to stay around a little bit. I don't plan to keep many connections from HackForums. After I sell my group, I have to concentrate on my own life choices. I have to do what makes me happy. Once again, everyone has been more than I could ask for. I can't thank this forum enough for its members, community, and environment.

See you starside.

You're someone many of us look up to as a member of this community, so I wish you luck in life and anything else you have planned for the future.

"Approach everyone you meet, even if you don't know them, with a smile. Treat them politely, and with kindness. The world has enough meanness to go around, it needs more nice people."

This has been me from the beginning. I've never had a problem with anyone on HF and I plan to keep it that way. 🙂
I think you put it exactly how I always felt about the fact Hackforums hasn't really changed, just the faces. People come and go and the most popular and 'known' ones aren't always going to stick around and new ones will always come up. Amazing thread.
what's your address I shall mail you a cloak

bye tho x
What you've said couldn't be more true, good luck with your future endeavours.

Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

May1000 Dragons protect you as you travel beyond mordor . Be free little hobbit.
I've reduced my time on HF as well Hex. The groups have been fun, thank you for helping create an even better SRPP away from the SRPP. I met the only people I still talk to on HF through the groups. I really appreciate the work you put in. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Same here man, same here.

Everything after this is absolutely true as well. Why other members don't see this is beyond me as well.
