April Fool's RepKill
On April 1, Omniscient pranked us all by handing out RepKills which were only viewable by ourselves. Nonetheless, the prank was a success and caused many users to panic and ponder on their previous doings on Hack Forums. On top of the RepKill, Omniscient left a negative reputation which reads "You so deserve this. You violated site policy. Be happy I didn't close your account. The reason you got Rep Killed you can read this in the Help Docs Popularity System. Which I suggest you immediately read."
Election Day has arrived.
Another prank consisting of the members Roger Waters, Viral Dragon and Mr Kewl all went head-to-head in an election to decide Hack Forums' next Administrator. All candidates created a manifest and raced to get the most votes in the election poll. Of course, the election was planned as an April Fools joke and remains completely fictional. Nonetheless, Roger Waters comes out of the election victorious with the most votes. God bless Hack Forums!

Interview - Wires:
Enterpriser: Wires, welcome to the weekly news interview. Before we get started, would you like to make any shout outs?
Wires: Sure. I'll take this opportunity to shout out Nasyr, iHydra and Ariana. Of course, the rest of the Writers group, Titans, and yourself.
Enterpriser: Great! The same old question, every single time. What brought you to Hack Forums?
Wires: Hack Forums.. Two things if I'm honest. Habbo Hotel was the first thing that caught my interest on Hack Forums. I was referred to Hack Forums by an old friend. I had an account on HF for some time before I actually became active. But I guess what really took my interest was the Remote Administration Tools forum. I saw the abbreviation "RAT" somewhere, and instantly I thought about a virtual rat running across my screen. I was a kid unfortunately, little did I know it was only an abbreviation and there was no such thing as virtual rats aha ;)
Enterpriser: Aha, I'm sure everyone thought about virtual rats running across their screen when they were first introduced to the abbreviation "RAT". Is your old friend still active on Hack Forums?
Wires: Unfortunately not. Not from what I know of anyway. If he's reading this, he most probably wouldn't know it was about him anyway as I've changed my alias on HF many times. When it comes to friends on Hack Forums though, I have very little. Majority of the time I lurk and try not to cause confrontation with anyone. It's only since I've been apart of the Writers group I've felt that I've started to interact with people. Honestly, that's one thing I cannot slate about groups - you'll always find friends.
Enterpriser: I agree 100% with you. Being in a group will certainly find you new friends. Some groups even have activities just for that. I see that you design MyBB themes. How long have you been designing?
Wires: Hm, when it comes to designing I like to try my luck if I'm honest. I've always worked with the MyBB software from about 2012, but I've only recently built the confidence to actually share what I have created and take on requests in the last year. Again, it's all about confidence and how good you think you are. The very first theme I done was for an old forum of mine I used to own with Nasyr and it was him that told me it looked good which definitely gave me a confidence boost. There's a lot of people on HF that like to create a laughing atmosphere at someone else's dispense, especially if they're slating the person's work. I think it was important for me to design themes for myself before I handed them out to anyone else. I amongst many people had to build confidence towards a solid platform due to the snarls and people you may get on Hack Forums which is why it took me around 3/4 years before I actually started designing themes upon request.
Enterpriser Hack Forums does indeed have a large community of people that do nothing but slander other people's work. Would you consider yourself above average than other people that design MyBB designs?
Wires: Above average, most probably not. I guess it's people's preference and I seem to be getting it right at the moment. There's people like Verilog who I've barely ever spoken to, but his work is miles better than mine. I admit, my knowledge of MyBB is extensive, I've contributed to their GitHub and what-not, even applied to become a staff member there, the only thing that let me down was my activity on their board. I lack creativity. When I design themes I often provide the client with a live URL to their theme so they can actually watch me make it, which allows me to modify any little bits they don't like as I'm going along. So no, I'm most probably the average theme designer that tries to vary my designs and tailor it to the client's needs as much as I can. In no way, shape or form will I ever put myself on a pedal stool.
Enterpriser: Would you consider MyBB designing something you plan on doing for the rest of your life or do you have something else in mind?
Wires: It's only a hobby which I do every other day if I'm honest. Outside of HF I do things on and offline. For example, I'm in the middle of starting up an IT Solutions company. Don't expect it to be a huge success, but it'll include hosting, design and the rest of what you may consider IT. Offline, I actually play Football - Arsenal believe it or not - I haven't been offered any sort of contract or anything yet and I'm only classed as a youth, but I definitely think that's my primary goal offline. The chances are highly slim I know, but I've gotten a long way so far. I also do youth work, counselling, T-Shirt designs and coaching. I don't really consider taking MyBB designing to a massive scale.
Enterpriser: IT Solutions company? Sounds like a lot of work. Lets say someone wanted to do something similar, what advice would you give them?
Wires: I know majority of these millionaires started by dropping out of school and with little money, but that was a different generation. People like Bill Gates, Thomas Edison and Richard Branson all dropped out of education at some age. I guess, what I'm trying to say is don't drop out of education and expect to be just like them. To be more specific and answer your question, I'd say educate yourself about everything to do with IT or at least get some sort of overview, this way you're not restricted to one field and you're able to offer out multiple services. You'll need a reasonable amount of money, knowledge, time, help and constructive critics. Don't expect to be successful at your first attempt.
Enterpriser: A quote I enjoy looking at daily before I tackle whatever project I'm working on that day is "Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.". What fields of IT do you think you have mastered or perfected to the point where it's ready to be sold and released to the public?
Wires: I can see why you like it. It's a brilliant quote. When it comes to mastering or perfecting a field, I don't think I have just yet. Majority of what I know is self taught, so I'll never really know if I've mastered a field unless I go to a teacher and get my work marked lol. One thing I was hitting perfection with was Media. Starting from secondary school (same as high school) I was always asked by the school to create videos, little films and trailers. Then it was my local borough and beyond. If anything, I've mastered Media. More in relation to the services my IT company will bring, I would say I'm becoming very strong at server administration, various types of hosting, and I'm some-what of a master at messing up or loosing my work sometimes aha. Clumsy sometimes. Majority of it started as trial and error and then I started getting results and helping people out.
Enterpriser: Trial and error will always be the path to success. You learn more from your mistakes. While working on a project have you ever been stumped on a problem or error to the point where you just feel like giving up hope on whatever that project was? How would you go about bringing your motivation back up to complete said project?
Wires: Good timing. Working on a project at the moment, currently in beta testing and I've had staff gone rogue, people trying to dox me, claims that the rogue staff took the database with them, racial slander, and my website being downed. Honestly, I've felt like giving up the last few days. I heard a word with a new friend of mine called XoXX on Hack Forums, and shouts out to him for helping me out a lot. The whole hierarchy of how Ub3rs are highest is nonsense, this normal member proved it with his exquisite knowledge. When my motivation drops I do a lot of research, and then disappear from the public for a minute so I can work on my project in private. Motivation is by far my hardest challenge of all. I think the motivation comes from proving people wrong and seeing their reaction. The thought of that, brings my motivation back up.
Enterpriser: Most people believe that being in a group, having a lot of repuation points , or simply being a Ub3r grants you superiority and knowledge. A lot of members that I've met that have such pixels on the internet are just idioitic and can't tell the difference between numbers and letters. I see that you said that when your motivation drops, you disappear from the public so you can direct your full attention to the project at task, but have you ever been so fed up with an online project that it takes away from your personal life?
Wires: I've concentrated on projects so much that it affects the people around me when I disappear. I'll receive a message from the girl I'm seeing, and I think to myself "I'll reply in about 5 minutes" and 3 hours go passed all because I'm working on multiple projects at once. The balance between building projects and personal life can be hard, especially when you truly belief in a project. Right about now I must admit I'm in a little trouble and trying to make amends in my relationship because of how long I take to reply and my availability. I've recently started sleeping less as I try to socialise as much as I can during the day, and work at night. Overall, it can be very difficult.
Enterpriser: Splitting up your personal life with your business life can be a tricky task. The same thing happens to me on a daily basis. I would tell myself "Let me just finsh this last line" , but before you know it. She's double texting me asking why I'm not responding. Just a little advice, don't let your business life affect your relationship. You can always earn money, but once you lose that special person for good, it's over for you. Before we wrap up things here, what is your honest opinion about Hack Forums?
Wires: Hack Forums is constantly changing and adapting, it's only natural. I think that many people sing praises to Omniscient and the rest of the staff team, but everyone forgets about those individual moderators and mentors who work hard too. Hack Forums has some great features, and everyone plays a role in the community. Overall, it's the biggest and greatest MyBB forum there is. One thing I would like to see more of is Omniscient finding the time to have fun and connect with groups a bit more. For example, Titans. It would of been great to see Omniscient having fun in the Titans Casino or another event of theirs.
Enterpriser: Omniscient is busy nearly every day working on projects to help support the forum, but I'm sure he has those days where he has time to participate with events hosted by groups. Sure would be fun to gamble with him, aha. I thank you for your time and giving me the opportunity to interview you. Have a good night/day.
Wires: You too

A message from King Cin
Your fear is the sharpest definition of your self. You should know it and you should feel it constantly.
Fear needs to become your friend, so that you are no longer uncomfortable with it. Fear shows that you are at your edge.
Staying with the fear allows real transformation to occur. Push your limits without trying to escape fear.
Square Enix Snatched Everyone's Wig at FF15: Uncovered Event
The Final Fantasy 15: Uncovered event held in Los Angeles this past weekend wowed everyone despite the official release date of September 30 being leaked a day before the event. Square Enix encouraged people to view the live stream and promised there was much more news to be had. They weren't lying. There were 15 announcements. Most notably, they announced a feature-length film featuring stars like Aaron Paul, Sean Bean, and Lena Heady entitled Kingsglaive, an anime series, and the official theme song sung by Florence + the Machine. Square Enix is bringing everything they have to offer to the table. Final Fantasy 15 has been in production for 10 years and fans of the series have incredibly high standards for the finished product. During the event, they also announced that a new demo would go live the same night for everyone to try. It was met with some criticism, but received well overall. Hajime Tabata stated that he is tired, but there is only more to come for Final Fantasy 15. They are confident in its success and anticipate it to be the biggest title in the series since Final Fantasy 7.
Resident Evil Heading Back to Basics
The Resident Evil 2 remake was announced last year, but nothing has been heard of it since. However, in a recent interview with Videogamer, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi stated that the remake of Resident Evil 2 will hopefully "recapture the spirit" of the original game. Resident Evil strayed far from its roots as a survival horror game and has generally left fans disappointed since Resident Evil 5. There aren't many details surrounding the remake. Everything known at this time is vague. Hirabayashi stated that 'Resident Evil 6 helped with creation of the remake'. The remake of Resident Evil 1 was a huge success and remained true to the original. It kept the same fixed camera angle dynamic, characters, and atmosphere. It is yet to be seen if Resident Evil 2 will keep them in the remake or the gameplay will receive a total overhaul similar to the overhaul that the remake of Final Fantasy 7 is receiving. Resident Evil's remakes and remasters up until this point have received positive reviews. It is yet to be seen if Resident Evil 2 Remake will follow suit.

Zero-Day Exploit Crushes Apple's System Integrity Protection (SIP)
An exploit which was found by a researcher of SentinelOne, has been declared a zero-day exploit. The exploit affects all Mac OS X versions and infiltrates Apple's new feature, System Integrity Protection (SIP). The flaw allows hackers to bypass the system and modify protected files and folders using malicious software planted on a person's machine. The new feature was meant to restrict a person's permissions at root-level and disallow the action of modifying system files or applications. SIP protected folders such as: /System, /usr, /bin, /sbin, and pre-installed applications. As this bypass could be used to prevent systems from repairing themselves, SentinelOne has said "This kind of exploit could typically be used in highly targeted or state sponsored attacks." Apple is now working on a patch.
American Express Apologies for Data Theft
American Express has began to notify their customers of a data breach within a third party provider. The card provider has reached out to their members and notified them of a breach which lead to account information being stolen due to unauthorized access to its system. Amex have advised precautionary measures as a person's account number, name and other details have been stolen. The company are now keeping a close eye on all affected accounts and are currently looking for fraudulent activity and suspicious transactions. The letter states that "Account information of some of our Card Members, including some of your account information, may have been involved. It is important to note that American Express owned or controlled systems were not compromised by this incident and we are providing this notice to you as a precautionary measure."
FBI to Unlock Multiple iPhones Without the Help of Apple
Help provided by the Israeli mobile forensic firm Cellebrite enabled the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to finally unlock the iPhone used in the San Bernardino shooting. The Department of Justice revealed the FBI's success after stating that they no longer need the help of Apple. When asked by Apple to reveal the technique used, the FBI kindly rejected. This technique may now also be used to unlock multiple iPhones in other on-going cases. While Apple remain puzzled, two on-going cases currently seek the FBI's help to unlock iPhones. Whether the FBI will aid the two cases remains unclear. The FBI are under no obligation to inform Apple of the technique used, which now leaves Apple in a serious predicament as now they have to find the flaw within their operating system.
