How to transfer from Local disk C to lokal disk D

Im having this problem, where my local disk C is almost always full. Recently it was completely full and i deleted some stuff on it, but still its in the red zone.

And my Local disk D is mostly empty, so im thinking of just transfering the files from C to D.

Anybody knows what the safest way of doing it?

well, it depends on what is filling your PC.
If you have lots of stuff in documents, photos, and videos, you can just copy and paste them, and delete the originals.
If its programs you may have to uninstall them and re install them on the second drive (which can easily be done by switching the destination location on install to D:/programs or whatever)
If its steam games its a little more tricky if you don't want to re download them. You will need to copy a games files to the second hard drive, but in a way that steam will know where it is. I reccomend putting the files (this includes the appmanifest file which you will have to find) to a temporary place then restarting steam and telling it to install to a new game folder on D:
Then exit steam again, and move your files to the new folders on D:

If you need more detail about the steam game transfer I would be happy to go through it step by step explaining it (I didn't want to without knowing what was filling your drive)

Tbh, i have no idea whats filling my computer that much.

Going to delete some programs maybe that will solve it.

ummm, maybe cut and paste?

To find out, use "WinDirStat". A quick google will allow you to find it. I'd post the link but my account lacks permissions to do so. The site is "windirstat dot info" - The program is lightweight and free.

Stay away from "cut" if you're dealing with important files. An accidental bump of keys on your keyboard could easily mess things up. It's not the only way it can mess up, but that's an example. Why take a risk if you know there's a way that has no risk? We're all humans and we make stupid human mistakes sometimes, including the person who suggested the cut option. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just saying no one is perfect, shit CAN and DOES happen. So if you can prevent it, then why not?

As for transferring items: If it's just files and folders, copy and paste works fine.
