[Serious] Good jobs for College Student? (Off Campus)

First off let me get started by saying I am done with retail and food service/waiter jobs, sick of that garbage. Its not for me and I just quit my job which was a waiter job because of how disgusting and pathetic it was, and how the managers/other employees treated each other and treated me. I nearly got into a fight the day I quit, lucky for him I didn't and I just quit on the spot and left.

Now that aside, I am a college student studying to get into the medical field and I am practicing web development on the side hoping to get a part time web developing job later on in the year hopefully. I am naturally good at computers so I am sure I can do that, but it will take time.

In the meantime I am out of a job and need something decent, I used to fix computers when I was younger, I went around fixing local peoples computers and made around $100 per computer fixed. It wasn't hard, just cleaning up their computers to make it run faster/getting rid of viruses, nothing crazy. But from there I went downhill, going to retail and food service jobs, which was a huge mistake and dumb as hell. I am not doing those low-end trash jobs ever again, I've already been there and I am not going back down, I am moving up from there on. (Which is why I'm still focusing on college/computer web development)

I would prefer a part time job
So do you guys have any suggestions? I know I am asking for something very broad. I'll try to narrow it down, do you guys know of any good entry level Medical jobs in the hospital? Or computer jobs? Anything I might have a chance at getting into that isn't low-end trash like retail/food service?

I figured I'd start getting medical experience by applying to some hospitals, but most jobs in the hospitals require certifications sadly, and I am not finished with my college degree yet. I have 60 credits sure, but I am not done with the full program yet.
I also figured I'd get a web development job, but it will take a little more time for me to relearn all the web development languages and build a portfolio to show employers... so I need a job in the meantime.
It's good your focusing on the big things in life, I think you're on the right path. Hustle find ways here and there to make money even if its in the grey area :)
I am going back to school. Because I'm going back to school I need a decent part time job to help myself. I picked up to become a pharmacy technician. You can get your license within 3 months at CVS. Have some experience afterwards and you can move to places like costco or Kaiser permenante for 18-19 dollars an hour.
I suggest working at FEDEX like me. 17 bucks an hour for doing nothing. seriously.

Lol seriously? Whats the average day like for you at the job, like what do you need to do/your duties?

I live in New York, so I am pretty sure I wont get as lucky, being able to sit around doing nothing, since this place will be way more busy probably.
What is your job title? (So I know what I should be applying for)
In the same state as you and was in the same shoes as well. I started doing some iPhone repairs. I made a lot of money, until I started getting cocky and doing business first without taking money up front. Don't do that, ever, for anyone.
Get back into fixing computers? Easy money every now and then.

Bartender job?

I am not sure how qualifications etc. work in your country when it comes to working in certain roles such as selling liquor or security.
You could try and be an emt right? I'm not sure of the requirements but I have a buddy going into medical that plans to be an emt soon. It would get you work experience + you get to ride in an ambulance and see interesting things.

I'm not going back to those low-end job.
My last job, like I said in the OP, which I quit, was waiter, and I was kind of a bartender at the same time. I am never going back down to jobs like those again. I can do much better and I rather have a $15 an hour minimum pay job where I don't have to slave my ass off and stand all day while getting bitched at by some losers who didn't make it in life.

This is why I want to learn more web development/programming fast, so I can get a job and at least hopefully have some fun with that job, since I'd like to learn more about web developing and having a job in it will help me do that.

As for computer fixing, if I could find a job that would let me in to do that, it would be great, I'll look in deeper to see if I find a computer tech job in the meantime. I might have to brush up on some things since these employers want you to know some extra stuff...

Well do the second option then, call local businesses who do not have a website and offer them a price for you to make them one.

If you were a CS student I'd say just get an internship, they're usually paid and help with real world stuff after college.

Yeah I'll be doing that once I get a few sample websites up. I built a quick website a few days ago, I'm gonna build like 5 more as I continue to develop my skills and learn the basics of a few more things. But right now I need something stable. That would be more of a side gig, like extra money type stuff.

Sounds interesting... I'll look into some internships, hopefully paid ones, and see if I can get an internship for something computer related. I'm not a CS major but I'll just tell them I am interested in the field and I'll tell them about my experience.

Thanks guys!
How about babysitting? Or looking at local job offerings, see if anything interests you. do you live in a city? try getting a part time job at a bar. i know you'd say its a service job, and low level, but say you work bartending on a friday and saturday, from tips, you can pull in hundreds from 1 night.

Most CS internships are paid. For example, Microsoft pays ~$6k per month, I will be applying to them next year. :D

Yeah I know you could pull in a lot of money. Trust me, I was pulling in money from tips at my last job as a waiter, but...never again bro.
I'm not going back, my pride is more important than some money.

Its actually more than just the money. I know I am looking for at least a $15 an hour job, but I want something I can be able to tell people I do. Something my parents would be proud of tbh.

I know I sound confusing as fuck right now, but its hard to explain.
I don't wanna go around telling me "Oh I bar-tend or serve food/drinks to people for my job"
That shit is embarrassing to me, always hated it.

Wow that sounds epic. I am not even looking to make that much or expecting it. I'd be happy just to make 1k a month, that'd be enough for me to help out my parents and cover my own expenses. (I manage my money well, since I never had a lot of money to begin with lol)

I'm gonna start looking for some computer-related internships now.
Thanks bro.
Also, good luck, hopefully you get into the Microsoft internship program
