As a fan of the original 1980s series, this film delivers. The story and dialogue tend to be the weak points of this anime, as the plot is nothing original and some of the dialogue can be somewhat cheesy at times, however this makes it slightly comical to watch.

Nevertheless, the art, soundtrack and characters define this film. The art is done fairly well for this film. The music is memorable, with the two big hit songs from Stan Bush as well as the new version of the Transformers theme, alongside the films other scores. Many characters comprise this film, yet each one holds their own and contributes. Even Leonard Nimoy (Spock) and Orson Welles are voice actors in the film. Overall, I found it most enjoyable (I will admit that may be more bias as a fan of the series), however in general this film would probably rate as an average but slightly standout for its time.

Have you watched the cgi made version of transformers that used air on cartoon Network but then they stopped it, that was much better than this, try it if you are a big time transformers fan.

which one? The only more recent transformers one that I ever got into was Transformers:Cybertron that was in the early 2000s but that was it until the Michael Bay films (first one was the decent, the rest meh).

Have to admit, Shia LaBeouf was great in these films.
Just realized this film turns 30 in about 4 days.
