Tips for job interview?

Hey,

So I applied for a job last Friday at KFC (Simple job but a decent starting point for my age). I am 16 and haven't had a job before because I have made all of my money online, but now I would like to earn even more money with a real life job also.

Today I received an e-mail containing a time and date for a job interview.

Due to never having a job before, this also means I haven't had to do a job interview before. I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on things to say/do during the interview to further secure my position in the company.

Don't confuse my interest as stress, as I am not stressing about the job and interview but I do however want to make a good first impression and make sure I definitely get the job.

Cheers for any tips. :)

Update: Interview was much easier than anticipated, the interviewer said I nailed it and pretty much gave me the job on the spot, saying I would be receiving an e-mail with further details next week.

Dress and look clean, stand tall and confident, and always make eye contact.

Honestly, I highly doubt KFC will not hire if you're interview isn't PERFECT because.. well.. It's KFC

Yeah that's what I mean, I am not stressing out or anything but just want to have the best chance of getting the job as possible.

Appreciate the tips :)

ALWAYS eye contact. Was applying for detailing at a honda dealership and I didn't have eyes contact. My friend that works there hook me up but he told me I didn't have enough I contact
If you are getting an interview and are a reasonably smart person, you already have the job. Just answer whatever they ask with more than a one word answer (unless the question truly is just a simple yes/no) and you will be perfectly fine.
Be confident. Keep your shoulders up, but never too up, you want to look confident yet no overconfident.
Show up early - Come at least 10 minutes early to the interview. It shows you are keen and organised.

Wear a Uniform - This only really applies if the school you are currently attending has a uniform. Wear it and make sure it is super neat, clean and smart looking. If you don't try wear something not too casual like you are going out with your friends, but try something a bit more respectable.

Tell them what they want to hear - They may ask you something like "How long do you plan on staying here?" If you are only interested in a few months DON'T tell them that. Say something like a few years even if you plan on staying less than that.

Eye Contact - No brainer. Show confidence when you speak and look the interviewer straight in the eyes when you are speaking to them and being spoken to.

Manners - Please, Thankyou. Stuff you were taught as a kid goes a long way.

Overall; It's a fast food job. Chances are as long as you aren't late, can actually look at them and overall seem like a good worker you will get the job. Good luck OP!
Have some knowledge on the company, they may ask if you know anything about there history.

They'll end asking questions about; customer service, cleanliness within the shop so have some idea.

But like other people have said; be confident, take your time, dress and look appropriate and as always eye contact.

I wish you luck.

This. Confidence goes a very, very long way in job interviews. Don't be nervous, or at least don't look nervous. Be truthful about your capabilities, communicate that you're a fast learner.

I forgot to mention; Always ask questions! Think of a few things you can ask when they say "Do you have any questions?" An example might be; "What would a typical day of being a cook look like?"

Im sure this doesn't matter in somewhere like KFC but it's always good to ask questions.

What attire would be appropriate?

Cold in Australia at the moment, so would a pair of cream chinos and a dark grey sweater be fine? Also I am assuming I am not to wear a hat of any kind.

Thanks :)

Don't worry too much about what you wear to an interview at a place like KFC. Just look presentable and tidy. Don't over think it much, answer the questions confidently. Try avoid going "uhhhh" and shit. You'll be golden.

Australia, legal age to get a job here is 14 years 9 months. At least it is in my state (NSW) anyway.

Sweet as, the interview is exactly one week away today so I have plenty of time to prepare. Look forward to it.

Appreciate the help. :)
