I've had an account on this website for nearly two years, but I've never actually got into using it, besides to make the occasional LQ post or view threads past the login wall. It still has the default avatar and there aren't many posts made by it. I've just decided to try participating in hackforums, so I made this brand new account, configured my profile, and bought an upgrade package. This is what I planned to use as my main account, but somebody in the Lounge pointed out that what I did isn't allowed by the rules. That got me worried. Is this okay? I don't want to lose an account that I just paid money to upgrade.
I've accidentally broken the multi-accounting rule. Is my account safe? |

I won't, the account is worthless (Sep 13, 2016 11:24 PM)Ambien Wrote: When was the last time you used it? if it was years ago then it would've been pruned and you should be fine. If the account is still around then he could merge it or something. This. I would PM Omniscient with your old username and explain the situation. If the account is still active, he'll either direct you to continue using this one or he will merge this one with your old one. Don't message him, he'll most likely or a staff member will see this and just close your other account and leave this one for you to use. Staff don't want to hear about it matching ips don't matter unless you have proof of a member being a multi that was closed by staff. If account was closed due to inactivity you can make a new account and not worry about it. (Sep 14, 2016 01:35 PM)- Sam - Wrote: Believe it or not I had the same problem nearly 6 years ago. I had an account before this which I was unaware of and forgot about, so I ended up making a new one only to find out I completely forgot about the account I made before. In trust scan important information it says not to contact staff about matching ips.
I'd be a bit hesitant about messaging staff about it, they have better things to do than worry about your accidental multi.
If your other account is inactive and not upgraded, chances are it will just be closed some time down the road in which case you are allowed to make a new one, I realize that isn't what your current situation is but you are likely fine and you can just do what another member said and that is don't login to it again.
Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

Omni has said in the past that it doesn't matter to him if the account wasn't posted on and banned for a reason I doubt that op would need to pm staff. |
