We were offline today for about 3 hours because one of the servers crashed due to a kernel error. Investigating it now.

Unfortunately I was at lunch when I was being notified of the downtime and was not able to correct it remotely and had to do it from home. I wasn't sure what was wrong until I was actually in an SSH session and able to see what happened.

Truly sorry for that everyone. Sucks to have 3 hours downtime when the fix took me 30 seconds.

I will do my best to figure out the problem and take steps to prevent it from happening again.

The server that did crash hasn't crashed ever before. Hard to tell if it's going to occur again. Sometimes updates cause problems. The real bitch is troubleshooting a kernel crash and figuring out the exact cause.

Combing through logs now.
