Network speed lying or something more?

So lets say 🤨 ....theoretically....i'm using a torrenting program, and let's say theoretically i'm torrenting something with said program.

Now, let's say when I open taskmanager and check my adapter's speed, it says i'm getting about 2-3 MB/s and when I check in the process list it shows this torrenting program is using about 2MB/s

However, when I actually look at the speed of the download, it's only going about 200-300 KBPS and sometimes lower ❓

If this situation was actually occuring then is my task manager full of shit 🤮 or were all those accusations of this specific torrenting program true and they're theoretically stealing my bandwidth for their bitcoin mining or some other nonsense 😟

This is all...theoretical of course 🤨 and i'd never do such activities 😠
First of all, torrenting is not illegal as far as you don't download/upload copy right protected material.

I don't think you can believe either in terms of traffic consumption. You need a 3rd party software to monitor your traffic. TCP View or Wireshark would work just fine.
