Hey HF, I just installed virtualbox with kali linux, I get to the page where it asks for my encryption password however it then either freezes or my keyboard input is not being registered, can not tell which is happening.

I am also getting the message "WARNING: Failed to connect to lvmetad. Falling back to device scanning." However I am not sure if this is related to the keyboard problem.

I have searched on a few forums etc and found quite a few other people experiencing this problem however the solutions posted such as "disabling 3d acceleration" etc have not fixed my issue.

edit- simply booting up kali without installing does not seem to have any issues.

If any one has any ideas on how to fix this, it would be great, thanks for reading 🤝

lvmetad is a part of LVM, I am not sure what it has to do with 3d acceleration.

I also had this issue, though I never got it to work using install, and simply booted live cd.

Yeah that was working for me as well, I re-installed kali however didn't enable any encryption and everything seems to be working fine now, so I have a feeling that it wasn't my keyboard not working but kali freezing when it got the encryption 🤝

Well pinch my ass and call my shirly, I tried the same install and turned off encryption and now my install works as-well!

I literally don't know why this works... could someone explain?
