Insignia - USB Keyboard - Black
Model: NS-PNK8001
If you have this keyboard and typing becomes hard, and some keys won't work or require to be pressed down really hard just to type I have a permanent fix to this problem!!
What you will need:
I have this keyboard and one time I was typing and some keys would not work when I was typing. I had to press down hard on those keys to get it to work.
I decided to pop off the keys that were not working properly. Its easy.. just use a flat-head screwdriver or something that would safely pry off the keys. Make sure the pieces dont go flying.
After that I popped off the keys that were working, and compared what I saw between all of them.
I found that in the keys that weren't working properly their keyboard rubber caps were pushed to the left, and they were not directly in the middle to be pressed down.
The keys which worked fine had their rubber caps directly placed in the middle. The misplacement of the rubber caps caused the key to not be pressed properly when I was pressing down on the keys.
Just take a pair of tweezers or something similar and while you have all of the keys popped off, gently tug the rubber caps into the center, do this for all keys that are not working.
Once all of the rubber caps are centered, pop back on all of the keys and your keyboard should be working perfectly.
Keep in mind this worked on my model keyboard and may not fix yours, or you may have some other hardware problem, but it's worth a shot to try this because if this is what's wrong with yours then it could be a quick fix.
