This is a key feature which always seems to go under the rug, and it would really help prevent further scamming.
I think this would not only be a critical but minor addition to the infrastructure of the site.
Minor change = Big impact 🙂
I think this is a great idea Armada!
The verify secret feature is actually very usefull, but lots of people don't know about it yet.
"What's that?" is my reaction with 90% of the other users chiming in. Great idea!

+1 for this. Didn't even know this feature existed! It should be a button on user profiles, much more user friendly considering you need to enter the UID anyway!

To further on this idea.
I have one further notation, and maybe this is just how I do things, but I provide the first half, and request the second half for verification.
Sooo, maybe using the alphanumeric sequence generated split it in half, maybe red and green colour codes, so this same principal can easily be applied. 🙂

It's meant for the XMPP which unfortunately isn't widely used. It can be used for other purposes but you should never share your key or even a partial key with someone you don't trust which is really the point of using it (you don't trust the person).
Best to use HF XMPP and confirm their identity there then if you have some other preferred method of communication you can use that.

Was not aware it was intended for XMPP.
Always figured it was just another security measure for the members to use if doing stuff in chats.
Anyways, just figured it it was made more prominent somewhere in the menus members might get more use out of it. I know a lot of members do not even know this page exists.
