C++ is about reading large language technical books. You can go any site and run through tutorials and exercises but to 'really' learn C++... To really learn C++ involves reading 10's of thousands of pages of C++ books.
Read these books in this order. 1. Introductory book - Teach Yourself C++ in 21 days by Jesse Liberty or Accelerated C++ by Andrew Koenig 2. Something to re-enforce the basics plus introduce you the the C++ standard library - C++ Primer by Lipmman, Lajoie, Moo 3. A formal introduction to the C++ standard library - The C++ Standard Library - A Tutorial and Reference by Josuttis 4. A book on makefiles, compilers, linkers, binutils, deguggers. If you manage to get here - congratulations - you are squarely in the C++ beginner to intermediate range. Now you need to get a formal book(s) on templates and one on the C++ IO system and one on C++'s object model and have a look at the Boost site and so on and on and on. Learning C++ is not a short or simple journey. Try dropping Goodies or 0xDEAD10CC a PM to get an alternative (but probably longer) list of C++ books. |
