i-am-a-skid - The Interactive Search Helper for n00bs

Some people on this forum woke up on the wrong side of the bed, so I should mention this script isn't really anything serious. It's not a big deal if I show people another way to search for help.

i-am-a-skid

The purpose of this script is simple: To eliminate skids everywhere!! All jokes aside, i-am-a-skid is a little thing that helps you shape your Google searches so that you can reach the information you need without posting a redundant question and getting roasted on the Internet. That's all.

Installation

You'll need to have Node.js to install this. If you don't know what it is, it's basically a cool thing that runs Javascript in your command prompt/terminal. Head to https://nodejs.org and download it. Afterwards, you'll be able to install with the following command:

Code
npm install -g i-am-a-skid

Usage

Simply run i-am-a-skid. You can use the --language switch to specify a language beforehand.
Use command line switches.

Is this directed to me, or to users of the script?
Instead of asking the user a question about what he wants, and then having the user input the answer use command line switches. It is faster for the user in the long run and makes it easier to run you application from a script or another program. So instead of asking them what language they want to search for and what the want to do the user can pass this to the application as command line switches. So your user would run you application in a manner like this:
Code
$ i-am-a-skid -l cs -d something cool
lmgtfy link as output

Oh yeah, nice idea. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll update it when I get home.
Why are you writing client software with server languages?

Because Node.js is cross-platform. That's my only reason. Plus, Javascript is fast to write. If I have the choice between C# and JS and I don't have to sacrifice anything at the end result, I'm going with the easier language.

In short, it was just personal preference.
C and C++ or many other clientside languages are cross-platform too.
Languages like Python are easy clientside languages.

Just saying

Have you looked at Dart?

Behaves a lot like Python but all JS knowledge crosses over.
No offence dude but this isn't that much of a good idea. Why is everything revolving around C#? Also, I'd have to install NodeJS before I can use your tool? What if I don't want to?

Also, why is this a Console based application? Those that are non programmers are non technical so a Console based application is beyond a terrible idea. A better approach would be to make this into a responsive website. But then again there really isn't any need for this type of thing anyway.
Guess this tool wasn't as good an idea as I thought, haha. Nobody really likes it.

Don't worry though, guys. The stuff I put out in the future will be better.
It is a good idea, but google still exists :P

Indeed it does, haha.
