Hard Drive Cloning

Hello everyone!

i wanted to ask you how can i calculate the time that is needed to clone a hard drive with the latest technology available? what factors should i consider?

Ram?
Operating System?
Processor?

Thank you in advance!
Why does it matter how long it takes? It is not going to take ages, it will take a couple hours at max, likely less.

Operating system is not really going to impact it, I would say the main impact would be the read/write speeds of your current hard drive and the new one your cloning to.
I'm pretty sure it can depend on the RPM of your external hard drive (5200RPM or 7200RPM) with 7200RPM being faster. If speed is really important, then just get an SSD large enough for the drives you need cloned.

EDIT: When I mean SSD, I mean the portable SSDs.
