When I used to use Windows 7, There used to be a utility called Sound Recorder. Is there any way I can get that (or something like that for free) on Windows 10?

I cannot use the Windows store so It has to be an actual program.

This is indeed the replacement for sound recorder.

Otherwise, use Audacity for free recording.

Sounds like you need to buy a new license for Windows then, but I'm sure Audacity will more than meet your basic recording needs. Best of luck.

Windows is activated. Just cannot run the Windows store.

Kept getting an error saying it could run this app or something along those lines. Had the same error with Photos, Music, Movies and TV, and Calculator. I got pissed off and fed up. I ended up running a PS Script to nuke all Windows 10 apps (not programs) from my system. That Includes the Windows Store.

Ended up using this program to replace Calculator. Winaero doesn't have any Sound recording program I can download though.

Did you try running this PS script to reinstall corrupt/missing apps?

Code

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Already tried that. Still got the same error.
