I joined 09/17/2015, over one year ago, and it's time for me to bid farewell, it's been a blast here. I'm officially leaving tomorrow morning at 9 AM EST for Paris. I'll still be around in discord, but hardly active on HF. On brighter news, I'll be back on Feb 5th for a week as my GF is moving in with me officially, I have plans to ask her to marry me in the future. As my life progresses, I must escape some of the past to have a better future, with the one I love. I plan to ask her to marry me in 6 months, on our anniversary of when we first got together, at the same place I asked her out, at the same chairs and everything.
Hackforums has brought me a lot of connections, friends, and memories. I started on hackforums merely wanting to grow as a person and make friends, share real stories. Here (https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5463926) I shared a story of my mental health, my battle, and overcoming a big struggle of my life.
HF also brought me a fair amount of money, notably just under $6000 since I've been here. I've used all this money to buy things to better my life, spent it on my girlfriend, our future. I'm beyond greatful for HF, it's changed my life for the better. I've saved $1400 for a ring to purpose.
HF is more than a forum, it's a community, it has its ups and downs occasionally, but everyone here belongs to a community, not a website, a friendship, a bond of likeminded people. I would describe HF as the biggest family ever, sometimes can seem disfunctional with arguments, etc. but in the end, all is fine.
