I have a gif saved on Imgur- for use as a signature on HF.
When it is uploaded with http, it only displays on your profile (security reasons etc..), but when changed to https; the file goes over the 500k limit.

Ideas, suggestions, advice?

even if it did mybb size limit wouldn't be a problem since ssl decryption is done by the server, not php/mybb
idk why you're having such an issue, cloudflare maybe? not sure

It shouldn't affect it? I mean I guess it could but I've never heard of that issue.

No, it is because the file itself is bigger than the limit. File size is not measured in request size.
