dusk maiden is awesome for romance genre, you are into romance, that is.

it could also work if you are "I secretly love romcoms but wont admit it and say i love DBZ and action/comedy anime cause others will judge me" kind of guy.

Haven't seen E7 but heard its decent. Amnesia was a pretty decent short anime to watch, not the best anime but a nice take on a romance though.

I don't know about your title but Eureka Seven is one of the best out there, but the sequel can be arguable.
