Do you wet your toothbrush before putting on toothpaste?

I've always done this but I've often wondered if this is unusual as I've seen people who don't.

Do you do this?
Yep, feels better and gives a better clean in my opinion.
I always do this, but I don't know why. It's like when you wet your hands before putting liquid soap on it...
This is for the people who put the toothpaste on their toothbrush and then soak it in water. Do not wet your toothbrush with toothpaste. Wetting toothbrush after adding the toothpaste will cause dilution of the fluoride concentration; add to that the further dilution when you place it inside the mouth. That is something completely not recommended.
What barbarian doesn't do this? But thinking about it I have no idea why I think it's better.
I think most of the people do this, including myself.

If you put on too much toothpaste you sorta have to wet it. It also makes for easier titration, particularly if your mouth is dry. Adding too much of the alkaline substance will result in you doing further damage to your teeth and having a basic substance on your tooth is equally as bad as an acidic one. Mixing the alkaline substance with the acid on your teeth from food will result in it being diluted down to salt and water which is exactly what we want to happen.
Yeah, it makes the toothpaste feel like it's getting better coverage on my teeth. I don't rinse with water though, I just spit the excess out.

Yeah, that's another benefit. It makes it easier to spread around.
When I was a kid, I dint do it. I read a thread just like this on HF, and then started doing it. Feels so much better.
Yes I do that aswell. It's sliding better when it's wet, ya know.
Another HF oldfag..
This is the most random thread I have ever seen on HF HAHAA you made my day, but yes I make it wet before putting toothpaste on it.
I've always wet it first. Doesn't feel right doing it dry.

GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! Major breakthrough. I just put the toothpaste on my dry toothbrush and THEN I added a drop of water. Best brushing method on HF and only $2.30.

I do, I guess it's just habitual now.
