If you're a new member or an old member, read this.

My list of things I've learned over the years that I feel could help other members stay outta trouble as far as contacting staff and such.

  1. Read the Help Documents. Literally almost every single one of your issues can be found there.

  2. Don't bitch about a problem with Hack Forums. If you have an issue, respectfully ask for help. Talking shit about the site or Omniscient/staff will not result in anything positive coming your way.

  3. Read all sub forum rules and stickies. Most of the time, if something isn't in the Help Docs, you are likely to find it either stickied or posted in the sub-forum. Use that to answer any questions.

  4. Don't PM staff or Omniscient about deal disputes or anything marketplace related. The only time I would suggest doing this would be if you needed to have a thread moved or having something stickied.

  5. Don't disrespect staff. If you disagree with them, do so respectfully. No need to talk shit. It will only end badly for you.

  6. If you receive a warning and feel as if its unjust, PM the moderator that gave you the warning in the first place. Ask them what the reason for the warning was if you truly don't know. Don't play games with staff acting like you didn't know any better. Staff follow and enforce the same public rules defined in the Help Docs. If you are ever unsure of something, ask before you post in either Rules, Announcements, News, and Feedback Section or Ub3r Support Section if you are an uber. There are many members that can help you as well as staff themselves.

  7. Don't be an ass kisser. Treating staff like gods or the almighty one is annoying. You should always let staff know that you appreciate what they do but don't do it to a point you end up on their ignore list or banned.

  8. Never demand changes on the Forums. Its Omniscient's business. Just because you donated $8000 to Hack Forums doesn't make you bulletproof or any more special than the next person. That being said, what Omniscient says, goes. You can disagree with him all you want, but at the end of the day, he pays for the servers, he owns the domain, he owns Hack Forums. It's his baby/business to do as he pleases.

This is just a short list I've learned over my few years being here. I'm sure I could add more but I couldn't think of any at the moment. I'll possibly add more in the future. Most of these I've seen others get slammed for and I just want to help others get on the right track before they end up either banned or closed. Thanks for taking the time to read this and feel free to leave your opinions below. I enjoy reading what others have to say about issues such as the ones I've mentioned above.

You would be amazed at the amount of people that don't follow these rules. I'm only posting to help others to stay out of trouble. It won't be anything new for all members but the newer ones I believe it would help out.

Lmao. You just missed your opportunity lol. He was reading a minute before you posted.
We really need some way to deal with fraudulent rep. Its turning into a pretty big deal.
This helped me ALOT thank you man!!! EDIT: Just kidding. Good information for new users.

Find patterns of rep given by those who give it to you and look for the same message posted over and over again. Thats rep abuse. I would also not suggest discussing this as it could be considered bitching about rep.

Lmao. I was gonna say, I feel like this trolling has gone to far. But yes, I do believe it has some useful information in it for the new users. As far as my experiences go, I feel as if this is the basics for newbies.
Hmm really activated my almonds

glad to see the shitposting is still low tier from you

My point being is newly registered members don't even bother reading the welcome PM. People will get banned regardless of what you tell them what to do and what not to do.

I would say you are correct. But if I can at least attempt to help those who need it, I shall do so. Just my nature really.

What almonds are you talking about?

The best advice I can give for those that deal with other higher ranking members, don't cause issues. Be respectful, don't bitch about rep that you don't like, if someone argues with you, just ignore it unless they are being civil and actually wanting a discussion rather than to flame and harass you. Theres no need to suck up to anyone thats a higher rank as long as you don't cause problems. Yes you will have some that are just assholes but there are 3 million users on this forum. I'm sure you can find a way to avoid those people.
