I'm from the UK so I should be biased toward the Gervais original, but for me personally, the US version was worlds ahead of the UK counterpart and Steve Carrell just took it to levels the UK comedy couldn't. Agree or disagree?

I agree I enjoyed the US version, I tried really really hard to like the U.K. version but I just couldn't get into it.

I've watched the entire US version and never watched the UK version. I don't think I want to either after finishing the US version.

That's exactly how I felt. I don't find Ricky Gervais that funny if I'm being honest, and while I like awkward UK comedy, I felt he over played it, whereas the US version was spot on with the humour.

I wouldn't recommend going back to the UK version after watching the US version. Despite it coming first, it feels like a cheap remake as ironic as it sounds. The US version always felt far superior!

The US version was actually a much, much better show. I feel the UK one really lacked in quality and humour, it was massively disappointing. The characters weren't easy to invest and become a fan of, I'll never understand why people prefer the UK version, it's so much less of a show.

Yes I could not agree more! The characters in the US version were so much more well developed and had a more diverse cast, and I felt that each UK character was just there to make fun of in ways that weren't actually that fun. The casting decisions were odd to say the least, but in the US one, they were just perfect.

I love UK humour, Phoneshop and the classics like Only Fools and Horses are amongst my all time favourites, but I just couldn't get into the UK version of The Office. It felt almost exploitative, almost a little too real perhaps?

Steve Carrell all day!!! I genuinely teared up at the proposal scene, and his return at the end, it made everything so much sweeter. I think the vast majority of us are in favour of the US version then lol!
