[Mαxim]

With the help of Genuine, I wrote together a page for the Help Docs.
I think that it is needed to be added to the Help Docs so that you can easily refer users to the Help Docs to get an understanding of their warning points.
And also when new users are trying to get a better understanding, I think that the Help Docs is the first place they look.

75% warning disables your post feature for one week, starting from the time you've received the warning.

Other
If you are UB3R or above you can see the past 72 hours of warning logs here:
Hack Forums / Warning Log

If you have an existing warning level, you can check it here:

Code

The warning system is in place in order to give users a second chance. Instead of banning users for not following the site policy, staff members hand out
warning levels if your post is reported by another member who noticed that you violated a rule or if the staff member notices something themselves.

[Sεпραı]

Thanks for this.

I've never understood the Post to PM rule.

What does this actually mean please?

[Sεпραı]

I contacted staff and even Omni for that rule. It's a very vague rule.

Just don't force people to post in your thread to receive something (except for giveaways)

Like, a lot of threads in the giveaway section is literally

Post below if you'd like one

And they never get the warning, so yeah, it's very vague. I thought it was just not allowing someone to require someone to post and then pm the OP as it's like a free bump

[Mαxim]

Thanks for this.

I've never understood the Post to PM rule.

What does this actually mean please?

Do:
"Let me know if you want this method"
"PM me if you are interested"

Don't:
"Post below and I will get back to you"
"If you are interested post below and I will PM in 10 min"

Etcetera etcetera.

From what I've heard / gotten to understand is that the only thing that is not allowed is:
"Post and I'll PM you the XXXXX"

Though it is allowed to do:

"PM me for XXX"

OT:
Very nicely written. Hoping this will be added as I think it will save staff alot of time since users will stop asking why they get a warning.

[Mr. Robot]

Nice suggestion mate and nice layout - looks good.

[Egregious Jr.]

Looks nice maxim - hopefully this gets implemented.

[SIM-2285183]

24 hour post suspension hits at 40%, not 50%.

[Mαxim]

24 hour post suspension hits at 40%, not 50%.

Oh, might have changed then. I take it that this is true because you happen to have 40%.
Thanks for letting me know. Will edit the thread.

[Vandor]

This is actually really informing. I think that this suggestion should be implemented! Good job!

[Mαxim]

On topic though, I don't see why this would be a good addition to the Help Docs.

It's interesting information, but adding the color coded points you'll get just make it seem like you can do a few of the less red colored ones and still be perfectly fine wink*wink

Instead of scaring the user it might make them try and abuse it.

I think you are right, but damn, really want the colors. Not sure what to change it to.

[Mαxim]

Well it also feels as if this would be the same for any sort of statistic really, like the amount of time and whatever can happen on specific amounts.

It's like saying we work on a 3 strikes basis, which implies you can fuck me over 2 times free of charge.

I'm quite certain Omni is very good with psychology and thinks like this.

Yeye Omni is a psychology master and you know how he thinks.
I'll work something out.

[Happeh]

Pretty informative suggestion and can serve as a guide even if it isn't added. Very nice, Maxim.

[grady]

Why is that a rule?

[Mαxim]

Why is that a rule?

I would think that it is because it is because it gives a forum a sort of "desperate" look.
It will force people to post, thereby the post count will look forced.

But if you do the exact opposite, not allowing people to be forced to post, the post count will be legit. Shows the true activity of a forum.
