Hand Shakers Anime Gets Stage Play in January 2018

A stage play has been announced on Sunday for the original television anime series "Hand Shakers". Takehiro Yoshida will be directing the play and writing the script for it also. Just like the anime, GOON TRAX will be taking care of the music production and related aspects. If you don't know this anime, here's an explanation of it from CrunchyRoll:

Tazuna is a high school student, living in Osaka, who loves to fiddle around with machines. One day, he receives a repair request from an university laboratory. He accepts the request and ends up meeting a girl named Koyori, who has been bedridden for a very long time. Guided by something unknown, Tazuna touches Koyori's fingertip, and they create a weapon called “Nimrod”. After creating the Nimrod, Tazuna hears a voice:

“Those of you who've overcome many battles and difficulties, who've had a revelation, and who intend to challenge Me are “Hand Shakers.””

Suddenly, Tazuna and Koyori get pulled into a whole different world called “Ziggurat”. In this world, there are Hand Shakers, two people who touch hands and create the Nimrod. Their goal is to defeat other Hand Shakers in order to gain an audience with “God”, who will grant them wishes. Bewildered by this new world before him, Tazuna tries to comprehend what's happening. At that moment, Tazuna and Koyori are attacked by an unknown assailant. >>Source

In a future ruled by the all-powerful lunar super computer Moon Cell Automaton, these champions now duke it out for dominance over this digital realm, known as “SE.RA.PH.” This story takes place after the events described in Fate/EXTRA, and depicts the world after that previous Holy Grail War. Most of you reading this should know her. Oshino Shinobu, a 500 year old vampire trapped in the body of a 10 year old girl. She has long blonde hair, yellow eyes, and red circles on her cheeks. She is often seen in her white one piece dress, but has also dressed up in a black lolita dress. Sometimes she will also be wearing a helmet with goggles. Her favourite food is donuts, specifically those from Mr Donut. Here is Oshino Shinobu, in her young vampire loli form.

Its been a slow week in music again, so have some anime openings and some Touhou vocal arrangements.

White Lies is the opening theme for the Shinobu Time arc in Monogatari Series: Second Season. It is exclusive to BD/DVD.

Mein Schatz is one of the opening themes for Owarimonogatari, by meg rock. It is a theme for Oshino Shinobu.

A few weeks ago, Stack Bros released a MV for their song Maiden’s Salvation Theory. It was released by Akatsuki Records, and is an arrangement of various Touhou themes.

Fan of groovy electronic music? Or maybe you like sad upbeat songs. Here’s a Touhou vocal arrange that fits all that.

A CD I ordered a month ago arrived last week. Its a Touhou vocal arrange album, and this is my favourite song from the album. Its called Salvation, the original theme is Doll of Misery from the game Mystic Square.

Claymore

Synopsis (Courtesy of MAL):

When a shapeshifting demon with a thirst for human flesh, known as "youma," arrives in Raki's village, a lone woman with silver eyes walks into town with only a sword upon her back. She is a "Claymore," a being manufactured as half-human and half-youma, for the express purpose of exterminating these monsters. After Raki's family is killed, the Claymore saves his life, but he is subsequently banished from his home. With nowhere else to go, Raki finds the Claymore, known as Clare, and decides to follow her on her journeys.

As the pair travel from town to town, defeating youma along the way, more about Clare's organization and her fellow warriors comes to light. With every town cleansed and every demon destroyed, they come closer to the youma on which Clare has sought vengeance ever since she chose to become a Claymore.

Similar anime: Berserk (1997), Fate/Stay Night, Blood+, Shingeki no Kyojin, Seirei no Moribito
MAL

To summarize, this is a fusion of a semi-Berserk story with a female lead. This is not one of Madhouse's greatest anime, however it does its job to entertain you for at least the majority of the story. The anime takes place in a time where demons run amok eating humans and a specialized half-breed human/demon knights are tasked with killing them. The story progression is done fairly at first, where it appears almost episodic with every 1-2 episodes. During this time it uses itself to look into the darker aspects of humanity and morality. However, near the latter half of the anime this interesting perspective is dropped in favor of intense yet somewhat unfulfilling fight scenes. This is not to say that it took away from the enjoyment of the series, however the shift in direction is noticeable. Also, the ending seems to leave the impression that there would be a potential second season (the anime was made with only half of the manga done at the time), however this has not happened nor is it likely to.

The artwork is done well, however the only detriments would be the few differences in the character designs and noticeable repeated fight sequences near the end of the anime. The sound was done nicely. As for characters, you may find yourself having mixed feelings. The Claymores are indeed badass fighters with a cool disposition (generally). However there are a few sides characters (notably Raki) that many will find annoying or causing a detriment to the plot. There is a decent amount of attention to all the side characters however which is a plus.

Overall however this is a decent anime to pass the time. There are several themes explored and the story concept is a decent one. Give this one a try if you're all done with the good anime and want to give a wild car a go. ;)

One such teenager is Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelion. This is the official manga released a few years after the original anime aired. It adds further depth and explanation to characters, plot holes, and other concerns that fans found with the anime, while also adding a touch of its own. Take a read if you're a fan of the original series and want more in regards to it all (looking at you @Kayoz ;) ).

That's just one of her forms, because she lost so much power. I believe it is explained at some point in the series. As for other anime, no idea.

Shinobu is love, Shinobu is life. Great issue!
