Never thought I would be making one of these as I haven't really thought too much about what kind of impact HF has had on me. But after reading some of you guys' testimonials I decided to just lean back and think back.
I joined Hackforums in June, 2012 for the sole reason of finding out how this one guy was able to bring down my whole network. I searched around the web for tech support forums and such and somehow it lead me here. So I signed up and made a thread asking for guidance. He kept hitting me off, soon enough I got replies from people explaining what was going on and I was absolutely blown away by the fact that someone on the other side of the planet was able to directly mess with my network in the way he did.
That right there is what got me interested in computers and networking. At the time I was in my final year of highschool and was still trying to figure out what kind of school I wanted to go to next and what I wanted to study. But after that scenario, I knew exactly what I wanted to work with. So I told my parents I wanted to join a school that had networking classes. Sadly, the only school that had the classes that I was looking for was in a whole other city, almost 2 hours away. But my parents were nice enough and thought it was time to move anyways. So they told me that if I got into the school we could move there. I instantly applied and soon enough I was accepted into that school where I then studied 'Network and Communication Technology' for three years.
Through-out the school years I met tons of new great friends and thanks to them I found a brand new hobby that I never thought I'd enjoy & life just got so much better all of a sudden. I loved what I was studying and just kept learning more about Network administation and so forth. I've never been too keen on studying, especially not after school but thanks to HF and everyone here, studying got so much more fun. I kept making new friends through HF and soon enough we started a "Hacking group" Wasn't really a "Hacking" group though, We were more of a group of people who all shared the same interest and decided to help eachother out in whatever way we could and just kept striving for better things. Soon enough we were making all kinds of deals with other users and then, for the first time ever I actually started making my very own money. It wasnt much at the time but it was enough to keep me motivated and it didn't take long until 10's turned to 100's which for me, was a lot of money as a teenager. It allowed me to go out and buy food, clothes and games whenever I felt for it.
It's crazy to think that thanks to that one guy on minecraft who couldn't keep his fingers away from his booter, I ended up where I am now. Happier and more confident than ever before. If he could have just kept his cool then I wouldn't have found this forum. I wouldn't have the experience I have now. I without a doubt wouldn't have ended up where I am today.
Last summer I graduated with top scores in almost all courses. I've made new friends for life, gained tons of experience and for the first time in my life i'm in great shape. Both my parents also found new jobs and we're all so much happier. Literally all thanks to this forum and all the people I met on here.
