Phone dropped in water

I dropped my Galaxy S6 in water.. I heard a sizzling sound from the phone and it wont turn on. Rip me. anyone knows whether I'm screwed

Edit 1: Went to an it store, insides are basically burnt out

Edit 2: Guy felt bad, giving me $50 off my new phone, galaxy s8 xD
Sounds like a bad sign. I mean you could take it to a phone repair shop and they could tell you. Good luck OP

put your phone in a box filled with rice. That usually helps a lot.
Probably shorted. Time to get an iphone.
Put it in a box full of rice during the night like other users said, the chinese will come and fix it during the night.

Also, don't try to turn it on before drying it.

My mom once droped an iphone in the toilet and put it on the heater for a day, worked perfectly fine afterwards.

Yes get a iPhone for $50 per accessories and no RCS support.
You most likely fried some of the internals.
I doubt rice will help in this case since you've heard that sizzling sound..
Time to get a new phone :/

I don't think this is very effective when you can hear sizzling sounds coming from inside the phone. Chances are it's completely fucked.
Unlucky mate! At least you upgraded.
I had a friend that i used to work with in the hotel. I was lifeguard and he was animator. (Animators just organised some events and games for the tourists.)
So he was organizing water polo every evening. He was out of the pool and he was counting the score as always, and a drunk tourist from Poland without any reason he punched him and pushed him on the pool. My unlucky friend has S7 (or S6, i don't remember) on his pocket. The phone was totally broken. No one paid for that.
very bad dear. better luck next time.
actually you should not switch it on until it get dry but it's ok now buy a new one Good Luck!
I took my iPhone in the pool yesterday and took some great underwater pictures.
