I've recently started to learn c++, and I am looking for good sources and references to study. Paid or free is fine, but I need an effective course or book to help me become competent in this language. I already have an understanding of the basics of programming, so I don't need any books that are "newb-oriented," per say, just a concise and clear guide to learn c++

Check out some of the C++ sources on GitHub.
Plex MTA There's a lot out there. If you already have the basics down, a course will not do you much good, unless it's specialized in a certain area. If you want to become competent, study sources & work on your own applications. Books are also a useful resource to some extent, but it all depends on what you're reading.
