I'm probably late to th eparty but just finished watching it and it's easily a 9/10, 10/10 for me, would definitely recommend you to take a look at it
Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria is a masterpiece 10/10

I definitely think Made in Abyss was the best anime that season and an easy contender for one of the best of the year thus far.

I might give it a watch since it has such good ratings, but personally not a fan of the characters looking like bobbleheads.

Haven't finished yet, but god damn I absolutely ADORE the scenery. The amount of world building done strictly through just visuals is simply amazing and feels so lively and real that I feel like I'm watching a Ghibli film. Tack that with the music, my god.

Masterpiece level music and background imagery. The story and world are so unique and they stray from any typical anime trope, without leaving out detail of normal human actions (such as showering, pooping), that this really does feel like a possible fantasy world. For that, it's super endearing and draws me closer and closer to the world.
It's one of those anime that I really love but never want to finish because I know that I should treat this like a sort of rare food.

I thought them being kids kinda made it slightly more innocent which I think was the intention, despite the lewdness here and there lol.

Absolutely amazing anime. 10/10 for sure. Amazing animation. Amazing scenery. Amazing soundtrack. Great characters. This one is a favorite for sure now! Desperately waiting for a season 2 now.

No mecha either, the guy is a semi humanoid with robot parts but that's about it, he's pretty much a human

I watched it and I would say it was really good, though I think 10/10 is alittle bit of a stretch, it had a little bit of things in it that bother me I would say 7.8/10
