Very underrated manga/sequel (It's actually korean so its manhwa), not as famous as it should in my opinion.
First manga "Immortal Regis" is mostly a fantasy - shonen type of manhwa that focuses on world building & setting up the story for Cavalier of the Abyss, MC is pretty much an undead human, he gets dragged into another world (supposed to be Hell of some kind but not really hard to explain, like the shinigami world in bleach, if shit goes south, sht also goes south in the human world etc) by a necromancer that turned him into an undead & such, a lot of sht happen that I wont spoil as it's important for the story.
It's a bit generic with some twists and moves a bit too fast.
The sequel "Cavalier of the Abyss" features several different characters, the MCs change from arc to arc focusing on the old MC towards the end of the sequel, it's pretty confusing at the start as you'll be presented with a lot of new characters and a major timeskip from the prequel, worry not, by chapter 50 you'll know exactly whats up. This one is more mature than the prequel, it has a lot of mystery & tragedy it became one of my favorite manga due to how the plot ended up to be & love some of the characters.
Would definitely recommend you to read especially for the sequel
