Motherboards don't have any effect on performance.

Will it last? shouldn't be bad, it's not their low end.

How does it compare to this motherboard?

The ASRock has 2 more SATA ports (not really much benefit unless you are running more than 4 SSD’s/HDD’s)

The ASRock has 2x Ethernet ports vs the ASUS single port, again no real benefit.

The only real benefit I can see is the ASRock has all steel reinforced PCIe slots where the ASUS only has the 1.

Once you move out of the cheap range for mobos, unless you're planning to SLI/Xfire or go hard with OC, there's never much need to worry about higher end models.
Even with a low end mobo, the biggest reason for it not lasting would be that you upgrade to a CPU with a different socket.
