I posted this suggestion early last year but since we were still on 1.6 it was not implemented. I felt like bringing it back up to see if it would be a possibility now that we are on 1.8.
One of my favorite features on this forum is the "Go to first unread" post feature.
For the people that don't know, this feature allows you to instantly go to the first post that was made after you last visited a specific thread.
You can use this feature by clicking on the blue triangle just before the thread name.
My suggestion: Add the same feature to the Your Posts page.
I always check up on thread I previously posted on, but often, while the thread is still interesting there is no reason for me to post in it again.
If I were to check it again I would have to either find the thread in the section it's in or manually find the first unread post again.
There's even an empty space right now where something like this could be implemented.
I am aware that there is a user script out there that does this but it would be even better if this actually were to be implemented on site!
Wasn't aware this was even a thing. But if it doesn't put any extra load on the forum except for including the link, I don't think it's a bad idea.

Could be added pretty easily imo.
Exactly. It shouldn't be any problem implementing this and it would be an amazing change as I (and many others) use it all the time. Heck I know even Omni himself uses the feature a ton.

I’ve always loved this suggestion. I’ve had it as part of a userscript for years now but I would love if it is default. Not sure if SEO bots crawl that page so excessive links hopefully shouldn’t be an issue.
When I get home I’ll see what changes need to be made in MyBB to make it work for everyone.

search.php is included in the disallow section. Extra links shouldn’t affect SEO here if my understanding is correct.

I believe this was a feature of HFX?

The one problem with this suggestion is that it would most likely require a core edit which is something Omni doesn't exactly like doing, for good reasons.
The reason I suggested it again now is because a lot of work is still being done on the website and if this is ever going to be implemented now would be a perfect time.

I only use one userscript on HF at the moment and that's a one that does just this. I seriously hope it gets implemented into HF for real though, it's a small but amazing feature.
Since we are on MyBB 1.8 now and most (major) kinks have been worked out, I thought I'd bump this thread to see if there's a chance of having this added.
It's a fairly simple edit but it's extremely useful!

Meanwhile you could use this userscript that I made a while back

I've been using a script similar to this one for over a year now. It's working out great, but it would be even better to have it implemented to have it on HF by default, without needing a userscript.

I remember when I made the original back in 2011 😎
It would be nice as default. It’s a useful button.

Make it happen :)
Last time you said it would be really easy to implement, so if we find a way to convince Omniscient that this is a good idea we're golden.

So why isn't this implemented yet?
It's easy to implement, wouldnt hurt HF better yet it will improve hf alot.
And basicly any real forum has this feature on default.
Yep, can't see Omni denying this really. It's super easy to implement, and it is a useful feature which I'm sure a lot of users would love.
Personally I hate using userscripts, but sadly need to for a lot of features, especially this one!
This needs to be suggested to MyBB and implemented by them. It's a search results change which I'm currently not interested in adding into core.
