So I was wondering why my microsoft laptop that has an i5 and 8gb ddr4 ram wasn't able to handle 2-3 multiple programs at once that weren't even CPU heavy so I did some research online. Found this one video where someone said to go to run ----> config ----> Boot and then it showed me that my CPU was only using 1 core instead of 4 and wasn't using maximum memory. This was set by default and i'm curious as to why that is. Would it be harmful in anyway if I changed the settings to allow the PC to use all 4 cores + max memory?
Why would Windows 10 want to limit my core usage/memory? |
